Not sure about how affective polishing and porting is on an R1. I'm guessing it probably isn't a bad investment. It's a useful mod on a car so I think it would be good on a bike.

However my buddy with an R1 is fixing to turbo his bike in a couple of months and is getting it done for $1,500. It's suppose to add 80hp. The guy doing it use to have an R1 and he turboed his bike. I believe he is going to port and polish the heads as part of the project.

So if anything it might be worth doing so later on down the road you can modify the bike even more. But there is no replacement for smooth fast flowing air into your cylinders
