Will we see the "AFTER" photo"s before we reach retiral age :rolleyes: .... I"v done the H2 built and running , carbs are stricking, opened them up , green glue residue, fk me i used it all last summer, and took carbs off in october, they were cleaned last january, Wtf is in that fuel now, abandoned the strip , as fuel on hands in these temps is a no :eusa_snooty: no.

Ts250 tear down will begin this week if snow prevales , :yeah:

I love the look of the fuel tank! may have to try and find one for my build! will have to sell the three i already have tho first :eusa_think:

Still waiting for the workshop manual but this turned up during the week. 1 down, 100 (ish) to go.

Until today, given the snow, not much happening on the YA-6 front; rebuild wise.

Ordered the V55/5 pack. Waiting for the dating letter from Paul Dawkins - April 1965 so happy with that.

Anyway, the SV battery had given up the ghost so ordered a new battery for it. This came today and gave me a chance to connect the bike up to a battery for the first time.

The result is video 6 on my video wall LINKY

Watched the Vid DT, seems fine, at least it runs just the 50 yards of rust to sort out :biglaugha: but it will make a nice ride once it's done. :jossun:

hmm doesnt work for me!...nothing to be seen in YA6

That is strange Paul. The way I set the page up it should be visible to 95% of browsers including smartphones. The short vid shows the YA6 coming to life on the electric start with no more than a clean of the plug and a bit of air filter wrapped around the open side carb.

I hope so. I haven't found anything scary in the rust. Not stripped out yet but it seems like all surface stuff, quite light really seeing the bike is 48 years old. Because it is a pressed frame I am probably going to coat the inside of the frame with waxoil after painting.

Light silver frame and candy red paintwork, as per original I think.

Maybe I should get the town twinned with the Bronx!

If I had timed it better I could have got the noise of the local steam train in the background as well.It passes about 500 yards from the bottom of my garden. LINKY

Seeing that the weather was the best it has been this year I decided that I would uncover the YA-6 project and take another look.

One thing lead to another, as they do, and before I realised I had a few tools out. Here is how it looks at the moment. Excuse the garden but we are still coming out of winter.

Wondering how far of a resto are you going?

The rims and spokes look good in picts,so will it be a CIL (paint) rebuild/resto,recrome as nessary or right back to new?

Not sure to be honest. It will only ever be as good as its worst part. Paint and a few nos parts are certain. I can get a new pattern seat for it and the hardest parts are the tank and exhaust. There is a tank on fleabag USA selling as new but it seems to have already been sealed. Can't find a decent exhaust for sale at the moment and the one on it needs a repair. I was toying with seeing what the cost would be to fabricate a new one or see if a yb100/125 one fitted. I will clean up the wheels but I am leaning to getting them redone in stainless.

I have just been looking at the YA-6 engine. The L/H cover came off with only one stuck screw (still in the case) and even with heat, plusgas and a stud remover it just sheared down to a small stud. The R/H is going to be harder, one screw already looks like it is a rivet, and I haven't started on it yet. Got a couple moving but not looking good. I think there is going to be a lot of drilling out and re-threading.

On a plus side, the points cam and generator came out quite easily.
