mark 88
Hi all Im just about ready to send the crankshaft from my xt 550 away to get a new con rod fitted. Now the angel on one shoulder says buy a new crank pin. the devil on the other shoulder says if there is no play on the original pin, your fitting a new baring anyway, refit it. Im trying to keep the costs down as this bike is starting to burn a hole in my pocket. anyone got any advice for me ??
Moderator mervin Posted December 20, 2012 Moderator Share Posted December 20, 2012 My view is if it fails after the rebuild it is going to be a bigger expense to sort it later, replace when it is in bits.
