My coat touch the hot downpipe at Squires and it's still there.

tried solvent, wd40 and polish and the bugger won't budge.

doing a quick google got me recommendations for soaking in brake fluid, fine wire wool and solvol to scraping with wood/

Its really hard stuff.

any one have more ideas?

Soften the plastic by getting the exhaust hot. Wood block (not ply) and solvol should do it.

Oh yeh............................. keep plastics away from hot exhausts.

on an irreplaceable down pipe, don't think so! :)

Had burnt plastic on the dragstar exhaust. Soaked a cloth in Cillit Bang and wrapped it around the pipe, left it to soak for a couple hours, then just scraped off with a piece of hardwood (mahogany/maple etc)
