Hi

I have a 2003 R1. The bike has developed an odd electrical problem where the headlights do not work (tail-light works ok), the indicators are on permanently (but dimmer than normal) and the high beam indicator blue light is permanently on.

Anyone else had this problem and know where to look to fix it.

Not knowing chuf all about R1,s apart from they are a plastic rocket I cannot give ya specific help

but it sounds like an earth or wiring fault too me, look behind the fairing at the wiring check to see if there are any wires that have rubbed together and are shorting across each other, look to see if there are any wires broken or disconnected anywhere

I would agree that it sounds earth related.

I had a similar problem on my 03 R1.

Opening the indicator and high beam container on the left handle bar and cleaning out the connections, sorted it for me.
