  1. Hi again, thanks Goff for the reply. Well I've checked and the spark plugs are new and good condition. I left the battery on for a good charge overnight (disconnected from bike) and thats got the bike starting fine now, although I'm still having problems. The bike just seems so have lost all of it's torque, stuggles up the smallest of hills and even when I open the throttle up fully it's just really struggling, sounds a little ropey and was riding quite jerky too. Was bad enough for me to turn around and come home after 5 mins. This all seems to have happened very suddenly since the battery was flat, although I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it or not as it's holding a good charge now and all of the electrics are fine and she's starting well every time. Also have checked the battery connections and I have cleaned up the little bit of rust and they are fine now. Does anyone think the answer may be to have the carbs synched?? I read that the 'symtoms' can result in having this done. Thanks again for any imput, most appreciated ; )
  2. Hi there hope someone can please help. I have just bought a 2002 yammy dragstar xvs 250. Very good condition, just had a full service with new plugs/etc. Everything was perfect for a few days and yesterday I managed to hit the on switch on the oxford heated grips as I left my bike standing. I came back about 2 hrs later and it wouldn't start, but a little red light on the oxford control was on so I knew I'd knocked it on previously. The electric start isn't working, just making a clicking sound. I bumped the bike and that works fine. So I picked up a battery charger and put the battery on for about 3 hours (it is the correct constant charger for the battery). I then connected the battery and gave All of the electrics/cables a good spray of wd40 for good measure. . Still woudn't start. Now even the neutral light wouldn't come on.. so I bumped her in 2nd, left for 10mins to tick over, it did but kept tring to cut out for 5 or so and exhaust made what I gather to be a couple of misfires.. ooh! I tried riding up the road. But... even when opening the throttle right up there is little power/no torque and the bike only just wanted to pull away, and very jerky to boot. It really wouldn't shift any quicker than 5-10mph and sounded rough! So I abandoned that plan and came straight back. There is plenty of fuel and everything was fine until the battery was discharged. I have no idea what this could be.. I have very little knowledge of electric starting bikes, this being my first. I'm trying to charge the battery overnight but am a bit worried I may have messed something up when attempting to ride the bike as it really didn't want to play. Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks to all who read this ; ) Hope someone can reassure me.
