  1. Hiya Guys. Not been in for a long time, but I am definatly up for a Matlock Bath meet 1st May 05. I have been working on the new UK fzr site : http://www.fzr1000.co.uk I organised a FZR meet at Skegness only two weeks ago and it was a great success. So how many peeps look like they might be goin ? Cheers. Matt.
  2. Hiya guys... I am thinkin of buyin a Dynojet Kit and instaling it myself. Two questions.. 1) Is a Dynojet kit EVERYTHING I need for a complete carb overhaul ? or will I still need these emultion tube jet thingies ? 2) Does anyone know if its a easy-ish job to do if I take my time ? Also is there any reference to performing this installation on the web which might help me ? or any hints and tips as to installation ? Cheers.
  3. Hi Guys... OK I just came across this cool forum, hope theres someone with some cool knowledge here that can help me ? (gulp!) OK will explain my problem below :roll: Summary : I installed a remote alarm unit, had the airbox off ! .. put it all together, everything worked fine, engine was fine, alarm was fine.. then .. I broke down in town, FIRST symptoms was, bike stalled, and wouldnt pull, was like I was running outta fuel, but there was some in the tank, you could hear it 'sloshing around'. I left the bike in a car park, fetched some fuel, put it in the bike, she started, and I limped her home, ever since, she wont go above 6,000 rpm Changes Made : 1. I put NEW plugs in the bike just now NGK BR8ES-L I think without lookin at the box, there standard NGK plugs anyway. 2. I cut the coil ends down by about 20mm, and I re-screwed in the ht caps, and put it all back together again. 3. I put redex fuel additive in the fuel to help clean the carbs and I also took off the airbox and used carb cleaner directly in the carbs. Other Info : Only other thing I can tell you that might help is, all the four plugs which came out of the bike were jet black ! on the ends ... When I reved the bike just now in neutral, it kinda hit its limiter around 10,500rpm mark and filled the street with smoke, sometimes when I rev it up to say around half way I get black smoke, sometimes it looks white, but its hard to tell. Advice : Am totally gutted I wanted a Exup since I was about 11 years old, I had a Blade, ZZR-1100, GSX etc and this is the only bike to let me down ... I feel like buryin it in the garden at the moment (sigh)... so guys with the info above ? any ideas on what my next step should be after the changes I just made ? Thanks .... P.S.I've just checked and there isnt much oil in the bike, .. at all ! I dont suppose that the bike stops revvin past a certain rpm when low on oil to stop it blowin up by any chance ? and could lack of oil / oil pressure stop my bike revvin past 6-7000rpm?
