  1. once you have your cbt

    you can book your test.

cause your 19 you cant do the a1 test

so you do the test ona 125cc bike, after you pass you can ride any bike you want restricted to 33bhp for 2 years.

once you pass your test , pillion and motorway riding are fine, its the same with a car basically apart from you need to be restricted.

  2. try thebikeinsurer.com, its a comparison site.

thats a awful site. Dont use comparrison sites.

They were qouting me £800 up for my hornet, i pay half that with my insurance company

  3. Almost 2 years riding on my dads insurance and my first quote for my new yzfr125 was £2800 from carole nash :o . Got it down to £590 third party fire and theft at mce

    thats a joke.

a tw is very low insurance group mate, probally looking at about £150

  4. Well, I'm a Uk citizen, so i have to wait till im 17 to ride a 125cc bike;

I've been riding a DT50MX for a few weeks, and ive decided to keep this till i am 17, so I can sell it and get a big lump of money :)

My Max price would be £1500, absolute maximum, as i'll have the bike for 4 years and done direct access course.

    Birthday on June 03 2009

I like Cruiser + tour bikes, but im not very sure what the difference between them is.

It's for commuting to college every day (9.6miles each way) all along main roads.

    What bikes would you reccomend?

PS, I quite like the CG125.. any thoughts?

    yes dont get a CG

    plz...awful

  5. i think the dunlop Roadsmart is an ok tyre, my friend has them on his R6 - doesnt last quite as long as the Avons though.

I had dunlops on my ZXR400 and they were ok - but the last 4 sets of tyres iv had have been Avon Storms - cant fault them TBH - Great Tyre.

avon storms have very good feedback

my friend new someone that should have crashed his bike " it was wet " and he was convinced he was comming of, but the tires held and he got out of it.

look into buying a set mate, gota be the best all round tyre

  6. the less teeth on the front the quicker acceleration you get or the more teeth on the back. if you go smaller on the back or more on the front the more top end which i doubt you need or want ;)

trust me i want my top end :)

so less teeth it is, thanks

    passed ure test yet btw?

  7. its all rubbish about the gearbox mate, if you learn how to ride then u wont have a problem.

i am a speed freak, so why buy a ybr? well it may only do 65/70mph

but it is so fun going round backroads on and throwing round towns

i would recomend one of them mate, its a perfect bike to get you into your bike career for sure, and its simple and easy to clean and maintain.

  8. looks a beatiful bike old git

so am i right in thinking that less teeth is better? what are the benefits?

i am about to order renthal chain and sprokets for my hornet

so i wana no 1st haha

  9. if you had passed your test

buying a 125 probally wasnt the best idea, with abit of research you would realise that it would only do 70/75 as it is a 4stroke

best move after test is to buy a 250 or something that is low on insurance

  10. I bought an r 125 about a month or so back . its a nice looking bike, it has a little bit of power but not much . i was reading your posts and every1 is saying there gettin 83-85mph standard . most i got out of mine is 122kph which is about 74mph . im gonna add a few bits like a straight through exhaust n that but id like to know how your getting that spped out of the bike standard . ive onlt done 600km (about 370miles) on it so i havent really tried to go flat out . theres still some revs left at 74mph but it just doesnt seem to have the power to get there . any suggestions?

yes pass your test and buy a bike that is able to do it
