Just been to pick up our new puppy!
She is a 16 week old English Bull Terrier named Dolcie - isn't she adorable!!
-
I think those specs are back to front.
The Midnight is a 1900cc bike (113 cubic inch) or thereabouts.
Actually its not just the 1900 honey
My 950 is a Midnight Star too.........

Hi Gary - welcome to the forum.
We do allow vendors on our little community, but send a message to alexasigno (our mighty oracle) and talk to him about advertising your business here.
Please can i also ask you to reduce the size of your signature. The maximum height permitted is 80 pixels - they take over the forum otherwise! There is a sticky HERE about it from alex.
Enjoy your stay and once again welcome

Welcome to the forum - always nice to have another girly rider on our side - enjoy your stay

That is my sexeh look!!
Actually, I was blinded by the sun, so I do need to do a re-shoot... preferably with some more exotic scenery!!
Preferably 4 ladies dressed in PVC and thigh high boots

Whaaaaaat? Those sweeping curves look like some Skye Terrier's arse!!!
Thats called SEXEH
Because I rode a Classic. Big, clompy, lumpy things with a massive arse-pad for a saddle. You can lean, but you have to hoof it about like a half-drunk horny Queen fan. If I want extra weight on a corner, I just lean forward.Custom responds better to weight transfer - Classic has an extra 3 stone to fight against... I'd need to put an extra 35% on my bodyweight to achieve this!!
Nahhhh - i never had to hoof mine - you sure you're riding style was correct?
As for the half-drunk horny Queen fan.....may i refer you to this sir.......
Need i say more?
Nah 's got the same streamlined junk and modern styling. Might as well get a Pan!!Its sleek, SEXEH and makes me look even cooler than the 650 did
PS: Love ya really............

Read somewhere that you can start to feel the vibration through the foot rests at speed. Wonder if anyone of you had that experience.
I had a go at the HD883 some weeks and the vibration especially at idle really put me off.
How do you guys rate the vibration on your 950, if any, compared with the other bikes you have.
There is SOME vibration through the footboards - but its a V Twin - theres BOUND to be some vibration!
When im wearing me New Rocks i hardly feel it - when i got me Para boots on i feel it - but it isnt THAT bad.
-
Ye don't look very aggressive when you're lagging at the back, struggling to lug that extra 20kgs of metal bodywork along!!
And those streamlined mudguards don't actually do anything for reducing wind resistance.
With my slimline tyres I can actually get some decent lean and forward weight going in the corners!!
As for the forks - Yours are just mine with an ugly mask on!!
Can't say that i've ever lagged behind!
The mudguards, whilst they may not do anything for wind resistance, still look waaaaaay cooler than the farty little chopped off things on the Custom
As for the slimline tyres giving you decent lean - how can ya assume you dont get it with the Classic? I scraped the footboards more than once on Elvira
If you wanna get weight over the front wheel may i suggest a set of clip ons and moving your footrests back
Anywhoooo - i have the 950 now which is far sexier than either the 650 Custom or Classic, so it makes no odds now!
-
Classic - Fat front wheel, fat fork covers and fat saddle for fat bikers, who really want a Fat Boy...
Custom - Retro looks for the Rock Star image!!!
Plus, it comes with chromed side panels instead of colour-matched ones. I had Classic owners offer me money to trade with them!!
It looks like a CG125 at the front!
I like the aggressive look of the Classic......waaaaaay cooler IMHO
And i aint no fat biker!

I just wanted to thank every one for your input. I am now looking to go with the V-Star 650 and upgrade in the future. The comments have been informative and as I suspected Yamaha owners are some of the coolest people and I look forward to seeing you on the road.
Nice one! Ride safe and enjoy your bike!
Fantastic choice!!!Get the Custom, rather than the Classic - It's lighter and looks better
Nooooooo! get the Classic! Fatter front wheel and an overall better looking bike than the Custom - and you'll look a lot cooler!

I have a V Star 950 - but i had the 650 before that then upgraded.
I rode sports bikes for years before swapping to a cruiser, so i would suggest the 650 for an absolute beginner.
At the end of the day its up to you though - go with what you feel comfortable.
-
That is so wrong on so many levels.......
-
You, sir - are what being a biker is all about.
Much respect to you Jim

Congrad on your purchase. I am waiting for the warmer weather to come around before I make my purchase. This is Australia, that's why. Like to keep track with how you find the 950. Sat on one the other day but have not driven one yet. Please keep us all in touch with your first impressions.
Beenout on mine to Wales at the weekend - loved it!
Even in the shitty wind across the M56 motorway and the driving rain....... my baby pushed on and got me home. Little shaky in the wind cos i was 2 up and fully loaded, but even with all that lot on he still managed a great speed!
I ADORE this bike.....its bloody brilliant - and i wouldnt swap it for anything else.
-
Well yorkshire is a long haul from here so say Squires it means very little to me but by the same token if I mentioned I was going to Fletchers or The Apple Tree which would be the pub ?
Regards Jim
Well seeing as most bikers who frequent Matlock also know of Squires, devils bridge, bakewell, cat and fiddle, snake pass, helmsley, horseshoe pass etc etc etc - i didnt think i needed to explain what it was as OGOAB knows it anyway!
-
Avon are good tyres. They'll stand up to a pretty good bashing.
I have friends who swear by them, but its personal preference, and at 130 quid a pair, i think you got a good deal honey
-
i looked at going up there in a couple of weeks time as its a seventies weekend saturday there and the ace cafe on sunday, thats if i get the fz painted up in time.
Let us know then honey - might come join you. It was absolutely packed with bikers yesterday!
Look what i got!
