  1. Marvin will be the new addition to our family in 2 weeks time. He is an 18 month old Dogue De Bordeaux or French Mastiff (or a Hooch dog! ) He is a purebreed from show winning stock

It has been several years since i last had a dog, when my Collie died i was devastated. But now is the right time for another dog and so we are getting ready for Marvin's arrival....i cant wait! :D

  2. Nice lookin bike for $500!

My advice would be to take it to a professional polishers or else it will take you HOURS of elbow grease with autosol!

If you have electric polishing mops that will make it quicker but to be honest you will get fed up half way though lol

  3. Sounds like some form of dermatitis. It could be you didnt wash the petrol off quickly enough and what was left has irritated your skin - funnily enough washing up liquid does this to my hands if i dont rinse them properly.

Get to the quacks if it isnt clearing up and get it sorted. :D

  4. That is one hell of a pretty bike Goff, and it sounds oooohhhhhhhhhhh!!

    Rob

Awww thank you Rob. Ive just been and got some new risers to day to try and bring the pullback a little further forward as im just that littttttle bit too stretched....im hoping they look good!

I have to put the baffles in on loooooong journeys cos she's just too loud and i get noise fatigue and a bit of a headache lol, but for shorter ones they are fine. :D

  5. im always wary of posting in forums, never know the reaction you will get :)

We are a decent bunch of peeps on this one, so pull up a chair, grab a cold one and feel free to join in - we don't bite :D - well......i only do when the moon is full.......... :biglaugha:

  6. i'm only replying to this because paints something i know a little about... sorry if im talking out of turn!

Don't be daft - its good to have input about these things cos sometimes you find a solution where you never would have thought ;)

  7. Hi.

I am pondering doing exactly the same thing so will keep an eye on your responses and let you know any info I manage to find out. A local supplier tells me that the Cruzers look and sound great, do not need re-jetting if you dont change the air thingy (filter maybe?), and can be swapped in an hour or so, which is handy for MOT days! I am a new owner with a 2007 Classic 650 having only recently passed my test/bought the bike so any advice is great help in making the decision.

Will let you know if I find any more info.

See my other post replying to your other post lol

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the V & H pipes - they do not tell you these are not a full system and that you need the front stock header pipe - something i did not have.

Its taken me weeks to sort this out and i now have some pipes on i got from Italy - they look and sound fabulous - theres pics and a video in your other thread. :D

Also - my Italian pipes do not have "not for road use" stamped on them either

  8. Good Day All,

I am a newbie to all this so let me intro myself. 50 something happily married woman living on South Coast. Kids all grown up and just achieved a lifetime dream by passing my test in May and now proud owner of 2007 650 Dragstar.

I wonder if anyone out there can advise me on replacement pipes to make her sound a bit louder, more as a safety precaution than anything else. Have tracked down some Vance & Hines Cruzers which appear okay but am not sure if this is the way to go. My technical knowledge on bikes could be written on the end of a matchstick! Hubbie does not "do" technical/mechanical. Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Thanks very much

The only thing with Vance & Hines and most other after market pipes for the XVS650 is that you need the stock front header pipe as they are NOT full systems - as i found out after ordering V & H, sending them back and then ordering Highway Hawk and sending them back too! If you have the stck front header peipe its not problem, butif like me you dont, then you're stuffed.

I eventually found a guy in Italy who supplied me with a full system for 250 Euros delivered - much cheaper than the £250 V & H partial and the £350 Highway Hawk partials!

    Mine look like this:

  9. Joking apart, dont think you should try drilling it out, the drill usually slips off the harder screw and heads for the softer ally casing (Especially if youre using a hand held drill). You need to remove the rest of the screws, Thats ANTI clocwise ;) , remove the casing and hope that theres enough of the old screw to get hold of with some mole grips. Put the broken off screw right at the other edge of the molegrip jaw, this will keep the jaws parallel so they wont slip off...Good luck...And good luck with your adventure :thumb:

lol i was only joking - i missed out the  on the end!

  10. goff have you seen the reply of CY WELCH to my comment??? thats what i call diplomacy....he replied to it without

any agressions but unlike other "people",,theyre so defensive and arrogant about my comment , if only all people on

this forum were like CY WELCH this mayhem would not have happened...get my drift???

    respect to you CY WELCH!!

Yes i have - unlike you i do read the posts.

    Diplomacy? We tried that

Tact - we tried that too

Defensive and arrogant? - I think not - i just had enough of your childish behaviour.

You clearly were not "getting it" so it was time for some straight talking - as i said - grow up or feck orf.

    if only all people on

this forum were like CY WELCH this mayhem would not have happened...get my drift???

If only people like YOU did not post the crap you did then this mayhem would not have happened

You have not been around here long enough to make comments like that, so again, and i shall say it s-l-o-w-l-y

I am prepared to move on from this now, but not if you insist on continuing this drivel.

This is a great forum with very little aggro, and we want to keep it like that.

Get to know folk and show some respect instead of posting the childish crap you have done so far.

If you can't be bothered to do that then you are not welcome here - do NOT piss me off anymore Handai - my tolerance levels are running low - so either behave yourself and show some maturity or leave.

    Simple.

  11. im confused,,mods means modification right?????

You know damn well what it means - now either grow up or feck orf

I plan in a year or so to do a frame up restoration, and I plan on doing the engine bits as high polished aluminum, rather than the dull silver paint as stock. Will it look stock? yes to a large extent, but parts of the appearance will be very different from stock.

Keep us up to date with the progress, i'd like to see how it evolves! :D

  12. hi everyone. I'd like to know your opinions towards chopper popularity in UK. I recently sold my v star and it took quite a while to sell it. I wondered are they not so popular here... is everybody a sports bike lover :)

They are popular - its just finding the right buyer!
