Hi need help want to put some more trick bits on my 2001 R1 its the 5JJ8 model(the last of the carbs) I have high flow trumpets and a ram air box from qb carbon. I was wondering??? 1. what does the rare KIT (by yam complete cdi unit) ignition actually do. One on e bay a while back. 2. What does the ignition kit advancer by factory (not yam) actually do. http://www.worldofqbcarbon.com/products/ya.../r1products.htm 3.Is this a mod to make standard ignition factory standard??? http://www.rhencullen.net/acatalog/Online_...rmance_449.html Anyone who has done this and has dyno runs to back it up i would greatly appreciate your replies. Oh yeah my R1 with ram air and trumpets with exup still there blowing out through as YOSHI RS3 tri oval is 150.7 at the Rwheel

Hi i finally have the right place! can anyone tell me anything about modified or race spec cdi for the R1. There is one on e bay at the mo but i assume he knows as much as me about them! So the question is what to they do ! how can i tell if its the real thing. Sorry im a bumbleing newbie and posted this in the gallery ! Hope you all wish me well on saturday as i go to pick up my latest baby a YAM TDR 250 i will be travelling 300 miles back to plymouth on saturday i will be starting from plymouth at 12 getting up to chesterfield at 5 and riding the tdr back arround 5 30 hoping to get in too plymouth about 10 30. I think this will be a great way for me and the yam too bond. Cant wait two stroke oil stinking everything it gets near, vibrates like hell runs like a bag of spanners till you hit the powerband then its hyperdrive! who hoo can not wait just hope it makes it as all my other strokers where bloody unreliable as hell which i think was great charecter a real mans bike as the engineering knowledge of the older Rd generation out shines the modern RD (equilvilant) the R seris. Will post pics of my bikes in a couple of weeks when the R1 comes back from been modified and sprayed. Any tdr lovers please get in touch if you want as my closet biking mates are one a honda lover RC45 ! Nice slippers n pipe as all honda owners are nice gents! and the other well thought his cbr100fh would out perform my r1 Ha Ha HA. My honda mate is after a nsr 400 for a 250 400 hybrid so anyone now an engine in any condition please get in touch ! i know he has a RC 45 but he is on just over minimum wage thats how dedicated he is to bikes!(ok he has no social life appart from bikes) (is that a bad thing)

Hello fellow yam lovers Need serious help ! 1. Has anyone heard about modifying or modified cdi for yam R1 Pre atkins (with carbs) Mines a 2001 5jj model. Just wondered if i can get some more horses out of it ! It does a 150.7bhp at the rear wheel with a yoshi rs3 tri oval can qb carbon ram air and velocity stacks. Dont need the horses but i like to try to keep up with the new Yams! Will post pictures when i get it back from the spray shop! Will probaly need help ! 2. I need money too fund my yamaha habbit,all donations welcome, come on you know what its like the R1 needs suspension and wheel tweaks and i want a Tdr 250 as the R1 will not be coming out unless its real sunny.
