    I am looking to do a couple of tours on my Thunder cat this Spring/Summer so would love some suggestions for some routes, B&B's, Hotels etc...... Hope some of you can help.

    Hi Andy

    I have a nagging son who would like to jump on the back. I keep saying no as he's 9 and I'm not convinced he'll be strong enough to last more than a few minutes. I've only had my licence since August and have only done 2000 odd miles so am also not sure if I will be ready to carry him or the wife either.

    What sort of distances and duration do you take your daughter out for? I'd also be grateful for any advice on carry a passenger.

    Hi Mark,

    I started by taking my youngest on short trips(5 or 10 miles)to build her confidence two or three trips,the last trip was about 100miles with 3 stops,as for advice get a pillion pal(belt with handles) it's easier for small hands to hold on to than trying to hold on to your jacket,tell your son to sit close up to you and keep his body in line with yours,he can always look sideways as he probably won't see much ahead,as for you take it easy and be very alert(more than usual if you can be).Stay relaxed,you will feel any movement a pillion will make it's nothing to worry about, just be aware it will feel a bit strange for a while,your son and wife will love it,be safe mate hope this helps,

    make sure your kid has the right gear on,everthing zipped,velcrowed and tied before you leave then he won't have to try and sort it himself on the move

    Hi folks,gave in on Sunday to the begging from my youngest daughter(10) to take her for a run,she had been on all my bikes before but never very far so we headed for Peeble's,the weather was crap but she thought it was great and we got the biggest chocolate eclair I've ever seen from a bakery in Kilcadzow(took 4 to finish it),think she's a future biker :D2007_n10.jpg

    They are nice pics.

    I was out today for about 150 miles. It has been a lovely sunny day in Denmark and the trees look like all those New England brochures. Our roads are always empty.

    Next time Im out I will take some pics.

    Great pics, try and get yourself in next time.

    I'm not as pretty as the bike or the scenery :lol: Maybe take the wife with me next time!!!

    They say brake in accelerate out. This means that to avoid balence problems you should enter a bend after braking to be able to accelerate through and out of the bend so to keep from these problems.

    It an easier way to describe a way to stop high sides.

    As above,but the further ahead you can read the road the better you can take the twisties,try and be smooth with sustained speed and not so on and off with the throttle and brakes(the further you lean the less you can brake),it'll make you more relaxed and controlled which in turn will make you faster and safer,enjoy practising :lol: I do(for the past 25 years),keep it rubber side down,

    Apologies to all, I went away and thought about what I'd written and I'm really sorry.

    I'm on a downer about Suffolk at the moment generally for all sorts of reasons but that's no excuse. I'll take me and my grumpy mood away from the Forum for a while and will come back smiling and more pleasant to be around in due course.

    Hi Amanda,never managed to meet Tomo,had to go into work today :angry: maybe next time.He got good weather for his trip though so he should have had a good day(better than mine anyway)I'm off to Dumfries tomorrow,hope the weather is as good,maybe get some pics,
