I'm having trouble turning my key to the lock position to engage the steering lock. It gets stuck halfway between off and lock. Is there just a trick or wiggle to get it into lock and withdraw the key ?

Thanks for the comments, I push started it and that worked straight away. Good knowledge to have tho if this happens again and push starting doesn't work

I bought a highway hawk sissy bar for my 125 dragstar off eBay, came nicely with instructions as to what side was what. I was trying to install today but the wouldn't go, my Allen bolts are just too small to go through the chrome stip and the metal brackets. Where so I get some longer ones from ?

Can I jump my 125 dragstar off a 4litre jeep ? Left my ignition on in my unit now completely dead battery

Hi all I'm looking to go about installing my 16 apes onto my dragstar. I've never worked on bikes before I bought this so if I ask lots of questions you know why haha I've got the bars and new grips. Now is there anyone that can do the work around the Cambridgeshire, bedfordshire area? I can get my cables extended if I take them off and get them sent away, how easy is it to remove the brake, clutch and throttle cables ? Next is the electrical side of things. Now would I be able to do the electrics myself ? Bare in mind I'm not quite experienced in electrics. Ideally if there's somone in my local area which could do the lot then that would be perfect

That could be the leak actually, I'll have to have a look. It's definitely from that area as there's oil around the area near the side stand and on the bottom of the frame near that area. Any idea where I'd get those parts from

I've just bought some 16" apes for mine, haven't put them on yet as need the money but as far as I know we need all the cables extended and all the wiring as well

Hi I haven't had my dragstar for long but when I got it home I noticed underneath was slightly oily on the left hand side of the bike kinda near the side stand along the frame and surrounding areas. Cleaned it all down and had my first run on it today went about 20 miles or so, had a look under and again was fairly oily, doesn't seem to be the sump plug but appears to be coming from up higher in that area and spreading it around the lower areas. Can't quite see very well as the bikes too low to the ground. Can anyone help with ideas as to what it could be ?

Hi all, so I've literally just got back from my CBT which I passed fine. Now do I have to have L plates on front and back, I know they say yes but realistically what can I get away with ? I've seen some with only one on the back which I guess isn't as bad and as ugly as one on the front as well

If I got a dragstar manual for the bigger engine would it be near enough the same ?

Can't find one anywhere, could do with one as need to do a service soon and have no idea where everything is

I didn't get any owners manual with my bike where can I get one from ? Also where can I get a workshop manual ? My bike is a 2000 125 vsx dragstar

So I'm ordering some new handle bars and was going to order a new set of grips. Now what am I looking for ? Just 2 standard grips or is there more to it then just standard grips

My left side one is worn and scuffed not to the degree of showing metal, I'd upload a picture but not sure how ?

Would worn pegs be an MOT fail ?

I'm thinking 14" or 16" I'd like them shoulder level or slightly below for comfy ride positioning. I'll have to get a tape on it and offer it up to doughty where they'd sit and go from there

That diagram clears it right up or me, cheers guys. When I fill up I'll do the whole tracking miles thing at least that way I know when to expect to change to reserve

I'm looking to put some apes on my bike, always liked the look. Now I'm thinking 16" not sure if I'll need risers to clear the tank ? My question is can you simply buy all the longer cables needed ? Or do I have to get them made up for me?

Will just drilling holes affect it at all ? I won't remove baffles completely just would be nice to have a better tone to the bike

Thanks for the replay lads. I've never had or rode a bike before now so I'm a complete newbie to all this. So when I fill up my tank will that automatically fill into my reserve tank or do I need to switch to fill ?
