  1. Nope, It had been as there was some marks on the engine casing from the lever but I have moved it down a notch now to clear it completely.
  2. Hey guys, Finally got around to joining the 2-wheels club. Dad used to ride Harley's years ago until he broke his ankle and couldn't take the weight anymore but as a lad I always wanted to ride his bikes. Sat on the idea for a long time until getting with my girlfriend who is from a riding family, her granddad especially who rides a beautiful 09' Triumph Bonneville. After a few pillion rides on that I was hooked, GF did her A2 and has got herself a Bonnie too and I bought her 07 YBR 125 off her after doing my CBT. So I do feel a bit of a mug going out on a 125 in between two classic bikes but hey, we all got to start somewhere haven't we!? I do have to say that coming from driving a car to a bike, I love the community spirit between bikers. It's amazing how much it has changed my car driving for the better too. Can't think of anything else to say really...I'm just enjoying making the most of the good weather at the moment out on the roads where I live. (Hertfordshire)
  3. Thanks guys, (I'll do that intro now!) In reply: Yep got the right oil to within the markers on the dipstick Chain seems okay to me, but got a much more experienced friend coming over later on to check for me. I adjusted the free-play on the clutch lever which has made a change and slight improvement but not completely fixed. Now (just sat on the bike not riding) the shift still goes from 1st-N but if I release the clutch at N then pull back in and shift up it will go into 2nd okay. At least I can replicate this every time so could just get used to riding that way, but not ideal! Slice - I am both a car driver and new rider, but I do give it a right kick to change (after some embarrassing moments pussyfooting around doing the CBT!) and I have also got my (fairly experienced rider) girlfriend to try and she gets the same problem so I'm 99.9% sure it's the bike and not me. As I mentioned on the centre stand it is okay but as soon as I sit on it this issue comes up, which leads me to think it may be the chain. I'll report back later on after any other changes! Thanks again for the help, really appreciate it!
  4. Hey, new here so sorry if this has come up before (search didn't reveal anything) I'm having some troubles with my YBR 125, when I go to shift from 1st into 2nd the gearbox just gets stuck in Neutral! Very annoying and embarrassing when trying to pull away from a junction etc, and dangerous! I've put the bike on the c/stand and ran through the gears fine, and I have adjusted the gear shifter down both to no avail. I have also just changed the oil which has not helped. It only seems to do this when I am sat on the bike (I can sit there and hold the clutch in and it'll jam at N) Anybody got any ideas here as to what it could be? I've read a few places saying to adjust the clutch cable which is my next step today. Thanks!
