  1. cheers for that. i will have another look online to see if i can find a replacement caliper =)
  2. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-YZFR125-R-2008-FRONT-BREMBO-CALIPER-/150960488157?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2325f23edd a link to a replacement i was looking at for now just not sure if it would fit =P
  3. not a problem, however back to the question of replacing the caliper, how would i know what would fit or not? unless i buy the exact same one again? also is there a universal tool or such which allows to fit different shapes? its a dtx caliper on the bike. (bike is a DT125R 2002).
  4. Not to worry the quick steel is a QUICK FIX just until i grab a new caliper. =)
  5. Hi, Michael here i am still new to bikes and have recently when through changing my brake pads, however before attempting the front as i loosened it a split in the caliper appeared and it has lost all its compression. i have ordered some quicksteel to attempt patching it in the mean time however, the main reason for the post is this: What can the caliper be replaced with if not the original dt125r ones as it currently has a dt125x caliper on it. (was like this when i brought the bike) The main thing im concerned about is what will fit. =)

  7. Don't mean to bring up the conversation again but i have been through a full read of the Haynes manual and there's gaps in it which i would like answered before putting the wrong oils in certain places. 1 tank at the rear of bike under left hand side panel - 2 Stroke? Centre tank - petrol Right hand side of engine - 10w30 or gearbox oil? Right hand side of bike front opposite radiator - 10w30?
  8. Hi, all just a quick introduction names Michael, just got myself a DT125R 2002 and hope to be getting myself a few more bikes in due time. Complete Newbie so have a lot to learn =)
  9. thanks for the replies i will get onto the new member section and introduce myself shortly.
  10. I have looked through the Haynes manual but theres no mention on the front oil tank, however the 2T tank is at the back of the bike, the motor oil tank is on the right hand side of the bike, radiator on the left.
  11. Hi, Michael here i am new to bikes and have got myself DT125R and was wondering what would be the right oils to use. I have got myself a Haynes manual which recommends a Yamaha air cooled 2T oil, however doesn't mention if it should be fully syntheic or not / premix so didn't know where to start. I would also like the know about the Motor oil tank at the front of the bike and if this should be the same oil as the engine oil which is recommended SAE 10w30 SE. Another note would be should i stick to the recommended oils or is there a better alternative?
