  1. Well theyre not so cheap in the UK, but thats because they rarely come up for sale here, I know cause I'd been looking for a good one for years. I wanted one so bad that I paid way over the odds for an old wreck and then hundreds and hundres on importing parts from the USA and Canada to complete it with. I would have been happy to have paid £2000 GBP ($3100 USD) for a concourse one to save me the work of having to do all the work on mine but if someone wanted to prise my one away from me now theyd need a lot of money. I think another reason there's so few about is that any that are complete and working soon get stripped down for parts as they're worth way more in pieces to anyone whos got the time to part them out.
  2. I'm a fair way into the restoration of a '76 GT80, when I brought it it had been stripped down to a dirt bike and had had all of the electrics removed. I'm trying to put it back on the road and the only thing I'm struggling with now is a wiring harness (loom). I've seen various looms for sale in the U.S but they're all from '79 - '81 models, as they're liable to be quite expensive by the time they've landed in the UK I don't really want to chance buying the wrong one so was wondering if anyone can tell me if they're the same across all models. I have a service manual that covers the years '73 - '82 and it only has one wiring digram/schematic so I'm assuming they might all be the same but I'd like a second opinion.
  3. I currently own an R6 and have previously owned an ExUp, an RD350, a couple of FS1E's during a mis-spent youth along with a selection of Suzuki's Hondas and the odd Kwaka. Ive been obsessed by bikes since my early teens nearly 40 years ago. The reason for my addiction stems from seeing a GT80 while living abroad in the '70's owned by a rich schoolmate and I've always said if I ever saw one for sale I'd have it. As you probably know they're not too common on the streets of West London but at last someone on the Bay imported one from the states and so here we are. Its pretty tatty, missing all the lights and electrics, and silver but I'm aiming to make it exactly like the one I remember from my youth, "competition yellow" with white panels. However having had a look for parts it seems the prices of delivery from the USA are going to mean I'm going to have to try and source parts that cross over from other models that might be available in the UK.
