  1. Yeah made the spacers and they are fitted -
  2. drilled the final hole and took the top rubber washers out. Put them below and all feels nice and secure. Just ordered some more fuel hose and an inline fuel filter. The tank was clean inside but anything to help the bike breaking down will be a + for me :-) browsing ebay for more pointless things to buy now
  3. Right, As I'm waiting on the stem seals to arrive i decided to look at the rear light and my leaking petrol tap today. First i had to drain the fuel out of the tank: Took the tap apart and the seals had worn and i could see why it was leaking petrol even when in the off mode, It was also nearly impossible to turn the tap off/on by hand. The bottom of the fuel tap filters were caked in mud/grass. i cleaned all that up and put the new seals in: I put it all back together and whalaaaaaaa. Perfectly working fuel tap. Put a bit of silicone spray on the seals with moving parts. Smooth as butter now. Very happy. I then moved onto the rear light i've recently received: You can just about see, there is mold marks on the under side of the rear fender. Started drilling through: Im through! Drilled through the light unit using the holes ive drilled in the fender as a guide: Not sure if the rubber washers are supposed to be on top too? Anyways Before: After: Update maybe this week. Valves should be lapped/fitted, Headgasket changed. rear light to be wired in. few other little bits but then im done.... (famous last words)
  4. Valve stem seals on order. Arriving next week. Engine back together mid august and hopefully rear light on. Mot and wheelies
  5. Lights turned up today. Swapping the valves out tonight :-)
  6. change of heart, bit the bullet and ordered from the states.
  7. ahhh git.... shim kits going to put me back a month. oh well rather have it spot on than bodged/not done right.
  8. Smallish update. My friend Steve came over and we started stripping the components from around the engine: Also got my temporary speedo fitted (bicycle) to get through the MOT This involved extending the speedo wires and mounting the magnet to the spokes and the sensor to the fork guard. Nice and sturdy now: Cover off: Pile of bits: Cams/Cam Carriers out: Head ready to be worked on: Piston looks good and the barrel is not scored at all. So im a happy bunny in those regards. Sadly my lighting system hasn't turned up today so we didn't get round to fitting. Ive in the mean time ordered a fuel tap repair kit as my taps decided to start leaking. Friday im going back to the town all my friends live at and we will be swapping the old valves for new. hopefully i wont have to re-shim. dont fancy dropping £80 on the hot cams shim kit. Also anyone know if i can re-use the head gasket? or do i need to buy a new one. Thanks Ross. Next steps
  9. Done a little bit of work, started polishing the header pipe, looking better than before, but i've ran out of sandpaper. Fitted my new rear fender. ordering the light tomorrow :-)
  10. Just had a nice parcel arrive to work :-) Old: New: Will fit later tonight and update pictures. DRC Edge 2 being ordered Friday.
  11. it was £12.99 posted, not sure why it has the label. but yes. any excuse to spend money towards the bike i use it. the mrs has a go at me for all the parcels i have turn up to work lol
  12. Small update: Picked up some exhaust bluing fluid to see if i can clean the header pipe up a bit: 7 Before: After: Best i could do, the metal is really rough. So maybe a nice powerbomb header pipe when i can afford one. Id been thinking for a few days about changing up the rear fender and fitting a drc edge 2. well that thought turned into a decision and i took the rear fender off. I've ordered a UFO replacement fender and im going to order the drc on Friday. Old fender for comparison. Parts should be here Wednesday Thanks Ross.
  13. made a small amount of progress last night, unfortunately everything didnt go to plan. plan was friend comes over after work, take head off bike and get head ready for me to do the valves, fit numberplate light and solder in place, fit spacers then chain. head off didnt happen and the rear light turned out to be a pain in the arse :-( took the light apart to wire up, got the soldering iron hot. All of a sudden the power trips. 3 or 4 trips later we realise the soldering irons glowing yellow and decide its broken.... damn dont have a spare etc. so lights left like this currently: The plan is to either get a new iron or just order a different rear mudguard and get a drc edge 2 rear light. will look nice, i just wanted cheap to get me on the road the soonest. And here we are, Chain on and im happy :-) So, head to be done another day, and ive got to decide on the the rear mudguard/light setup. Spacer information for Morad supermoto wheels, drilled out drz spindle (to 22mm IDA to match the 22mm ODA of the axle) . 3mm drive side - spacer width 8mm brake side - spacer width
  14. Well I'm going to be running her without the frame protectors (weight saving so my mate on the gasser doesn't leave me behind) so i may touch it up for the moment, then perhaps powder coat in the winter.
  15. Little update, got bored and painted my chain guide and sidestand black. My friends are popping over Friday to start work on the valves/spacers. I keep looking at the frame and think to myself i should powder coat. however i just want to ride her before the crap weather comes back. maybe ill get her powder coated over winter. hmmmm
  16. Got round to getting my front brake back off my mate who drilled the old bolt out. New one in place looking much nicer: Fitted my battery powered horn to the side of the ignition barrel: Had some goodies through the post today :-) motorcycle chain tool and my chain slider/chain guide block. Cheers Ross.
  17. Aprilia mx125 Ccm r30 Bandit n600 Yamaha wr400
  18. that's a good idea, just bring the guard down closer to the wheel?
  19. Sadly shes not as tidy as she may look. plastics are scratched. What do you guys think of me cutting down the front mudguard. for a more supermoto racer look? ive got a black front mud guard which i could cut down to compare looks first i guess. mmmm what to do.
  20. Ive had a look inside DT and all looks fine. The filter by the looks of it was old and had a few bits of grass on. Luckily no metal.
  21. Small update: Got my spacer tubing ready to be made into spacers: I then put my rear wheel in and finally put her on the ground. however i found the rear disk was bent beyond belief: Luckily my off-road wheels use the exact same disk and i put that on :-) Then once she was on the floor (first time in aaaaages) i attempted to take the sump nut off. Typically it rounded, luckily my friend suggested putting a 7/16 imperial bit on via the help of a hammer. This worked a treat, However i hammered my finger and hand and left blood everywhere. The bolt went from a 12mm head to a 17mm head Oil filter out and compared to the new one: Put her back under her cover then cleaned the garage. Going to get my spacers cut down Saturday hopefully and then i can fit the chain etc. More updates as parts arrive. Valves is the last big job and i should soon be on the road :-)
  22. Look whats just turned up... a week early Also ordered a new swing arm slider and lower chain guide.
  23. So, My friend ian managed to get the pin out after a few failed drilling attempts at mine, used his bench drill as a hand drill was not quite good enough to keep the threads from being damaged. So im just waiting on either him to come over or me to pop to his to collect and try my new brake pin/pads. Had some goodies come through the post: It was my birthday on Sunday and the mrs got me these :-) ready for some supermoto action Also my new 44 tooth sprocket arrived and fits perfect. Valves clear customs on the 15th of July. Waiting on some numberplate parts then im pretty much sorted. left to do: 1. drop oil/coolant and change oil filter 2. fit horn 3. wire in and fit numberplate LED light 4. change front tyre (friend gave me one with more tread on) - hopefully helps with MOT. 5. install valves 6. fit new wheel bearings for rear wheel (PAIN IN MY ASS) 7. make up wheel spacers 8. fit front brake pads and brake pin 9. get her idling and test ride up the street 10. insure 11. mot 12. tax 13. HOOOOOOON (oh fuel then HOOOOOOON)
