  1. Been a while since last update. I will keep it short . Got the throttle cable and installed it. Just got done doing another carb cleaning. After those two things it's runs great. I just rode it about 5 miles on a back road and it stayed around 35-40 the whole time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ok great, what is the standard turn for stock? I think I have it on 1.5 turns out and it seems a little lean so I will richen it up. Dt honestly I do not know where there is a track close by I will have to look on Google. There's really not many people that ride around here most everyone has four wheelers. 3. Ok I am going to be a novice again. I know a chainsaw has an h and an L adjustment for mixture. Does this carb have the same adjustments? I am having problems getting it to idle and pick up gas when starting. Any adjustment tips would be well appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ha good point!! Just wondering. I am really surprised at how much power it's has for a fifty. Now all I have to get is a decent throttle cable. Oh btw the cows are a little nervous about a silencer less two stroke. Thanks for all the help dt. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Ok sounds like a plan. I have not got a chance to try the system. But I was able to ride it a good bit today. It is running ok. It pulls 1,2,&3rd gears really well but it does not like the others. It won't get enough rpms to get to power band in 4th. I think it may be a carb issue. It has a hard time kick starting. What should the compression be at? If it has low compression would this cause the lack of low rpm power. In power band it pulls really well, it's just the getting it there. 6. I have not added any oil to the system. I have just been running mixed gas. Which would be better bypassing the system and just running mixed oil or using the injection system? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Ok gentlemen today's update. I put the carb back on and began trying to crank it. It required gas directly in the carb and it ran for around 10-15 seconds but never picked up from the carb. I figured it was some left over trash, so I repeated this process for around 30 min and each time it ran longer. I rigged up a makeshift throttle cable and was able to rev it a bit when it was running and this helped greatly. I put about half a liter in the tank and got it running again. I was actually able to ride it around the yard! Made my day! I was really surprised at how strong the little bike is especially when it gets up into the powerband. When I called it quits it was idling great and was beginning to run a little hot. I added water to coolant system and noticed some oil and particles. Hopefully it is just from it being in the weather so long. No questions tonight just an update. Thanks Jake Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. May be a couple mLs in the tank. That could be the reason. I teach high school science so metric is fine (better even). I thought it might be rich so that's a good thing. I will drain out the Coolant to check for droplets. Thanks for the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ok gentlemen just called it quits for tonight. I was able to get the carb somewhat clean but it is not good enough. Throttle cable is broken so that's a problem. I was able to get some gas in the bowl and it was enough to actually ride it. I held the throttle about half. Ok so as usual I have some questions. 1. After running it a couple times I noticed lots of black oil in the exhaust. I immediately thought it was somehow pulling oil from the tranny. I pulled the cap and the oil in the tranny was white. Anyway why is there so much oil? Could it be bad rings? 2. If it is rings can I just put new rings on it and hone the cylinder or do I get piston and all? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Filter screen was inside got it out thank you sir. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Well we have done it before on tractor tanks and it seemed to work ok. Is there a better way? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ok thanks guys I will try my best just to clean it really well. Just found a good bit of rust in the tank. In the process of rolling ball bearing sized rocks around in it to free it up. Any other tips on cleaning it up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ok good news checked the radiator and it was full of antifreeze so oily substance was not coolant. Also was able to get enough gas in it to let it run for 10 or 15 seconds and it ran great. Just took the float bowl off and it was filled with white crusty material. It is currently soaking in carb cleaner. Let me ask a question, it is a mukini and I can get a kit for around 30$ but I can also get a new carb (unsure of brand) for 30$ also. Which would be the best approach? 15. Ok guys after doing more research and looking closer at the bike I realized that I have made a big mistake. It is not a DT 125, instead it is a DT 50u. I am sorry for the misleading identification. That would explain why it is so easy to kick over. Now I go back to my original question, is it worth fixing since it is not a 125? All I will be using it for is checking on cows and moving around the farm. Will it pull me? I am 6'1" and 210lbs (95kg). Once again sorry about not knowing what I am talking about. Thanks Jake
