  1. Thanks for that, but yes did I get wet tonight! Absolutely pitching down! At least it was the Triumph rather than the Dragstar, I would still Be in the shed cleaning and drying it down. So glad I washed the Triumph yesterday! At least it washes the salt off the road, every cloud has a silver lining.........! Cheers G
  2. Aye we have been lucky up here so far this year compared to Englandshire! Mind you looking out the office window the black clouds are gathering, think I'm in for a soaking tonight!!
  3. Took a wee bit of time but finally got the spotlights fitted and wired and the longer bolts supplied by Metric Cruisers allowed me to finally fit the sissy bar and pannier supports to allow finally getting the panniers that came with the bike fitted and out of the wardrobe (much to the wife's approval, more room for shoes!). Also spent a good few hours cleaning the chrome before taking her out for a blast. Stopped off at Tescos on way home and amazed myself by how many cans of Magners I can fit in now.....! Cheers G http:// http://
  4. Yes the pipes were already fitted by the previous owner and they are full replacements, loud as hell, great for cutting through the traffic as motorists generally hear me coming! They are slightly discoloured close to the engine and get very hot as my textile trousers found out! Had a hell of a job getting the molten residue off! Was worse the night I was putting her away after numerous beers and dropped her on soft gravel whilst riding up one of the 2 ramps to the shed, bike was undamaged but my leg (was wearing shorts at the time) got well burnt! Lesson learned, beer and bikes dont mix! Thanks also to you and all others for the positive comments on my bike and the welcome to the forum. Cheers G
  5. No the picture was taken down at the Newburgh Estuary, I like taking the bikes there for photos. Another nice backdrop is the harbour in the nearby village of Collieston, some nice roads round my way to enjoy "Thumper" as I affectionally call her! Cheers G
  6. Am fitting a spotlight bar and a couple of lights, probably upgrade the air filter, have the panniiers already just need longer bolts so I can fit these with the sissy bar. Other than that am hoping a mate of mine will do a custom paint job on the spare tank and mudguards I got with the bike. Something yellow with black stripes ghosting in my tattoo just to personalise it. Will keep the original bits so can turn it back to standard for selling in the future. Cheers G
  7. Although I have owned my Dragstar 650 for almost 2 years, I only passed my full test in September 2012. It doesnt get the use it deserves and I came close to selling last year as I use the Triumph as my daily ride into Aberdeen where I work. However I have decided to keep her and am about to do a full service and add some further embellishments so decided I could probably do with some advise along the way! Here are a couple of piccies, mileage is only 4,600 miles so time to run up a lot more this coming season! Cheers G http:// http://
