  1. They'll be really loud. Look like straight-thrus to me. MidnightPhil had some on his 1300 and they drowned everything out at Squires...

Being doing some research online, sound pretty good, very simular to the cobbra slip on's I had on my midnight star, although its a piece of piss to remove the baffles and I guess thats what midnightphil did because then they are really loud

OOOOOOh yes, they look better. They'll wake em up at the afternoon tea dance. Not much of a rear seat though

Yes the stock ones are fugly. I think I woke em up at the local tea dance with my previous bike, to be honest I'm not too worried about some of the old farts round here, I just don 't want it as loud as my youngest, when he visits I know he's coming 5 minutes before he arrives. Not worried about the rear seat as I don't have pillions these days and I'm swapping that for a solo seat.

nice !!! :) how fast did it go.

Not as fast as I wanted to go, figured I should run it in properly as I'm gonna keep this one, was a fun ride though.

  2. Sweet ride old son, but who bolted 2 dustbins on the side instead of exhausts? :biglaugha:

Ha ha they may look like dustbins but they work too well, thinking of replacing them with these, just got to figure out how loud they are.

  3. Picked up my new XVS 1300 custom today, first new bike for about 35 years, only managed a short ride today but will be going for a decent ride tomorrow. Its amazing how different it is to ride compared to the 1300 midnight star that I had and funny being back with pegs again. Only disappointments are my solo seat and rack hasn't been delivered yet and that really crappy quiet exhaust, I mean come on Yamaha its a V twin its meant to be fucking LOUD, looks like I'll be changing or modding them sometime real soon.

  4. I have the disabled badge and you should see the looks I get when they see me get off of the bike in one of those bays, I use a walking stick by the way and can't walk long distances so I use it. But the times I see perfectly able peeps using bays is getting more and more common, and God forbid you say "excuse me" do you have a badge?

Worked with disabled a guy years ago who rode a bike, us plebs had to park in the main car park which was a fair old distance away and he really struggled with it, when he asked if he could use the disabled parking he was told " motorcycles are not allowed on site" Thankfully they changed their minds when a load of us kicked up shit and told them they were thoughtless bastards.

  5. Spent 4 hours cutting hedges today and I must admit that half way through I though its a tad warm, must be a better way to earn some dosh to keep the bike on the road and to get a few beers.

Then I went for a ride this evening and thought no it's perfect

  6. To busy chatting and forgot about photo but this is the one he got, based on the original but as you say with a few refinements such as electric starter and electronic ignition, of course being a good old biker he used the kick start.ClassicChrome-right-maroon-600x463_zpsya

  7. Managed to get out yesterday afternoon after the rain stopped, went to Newlands corner my local bike haunt, got talking to an old guy (my age) who had just got back on 2 wheels after a few years off, he has just bought one of those new old 500cc Royal Enfields, I don't know how he managed to talk as he had a face splitting grin the whole time, it made my day to see how happy this guy was,
