  1. Hello, I am not to knowledgable on this matter but thought I'd try to help you out. I've found this forum from a couple years ago from a member with similair problem. Like they said and I tend to agree if it is restricted it can't be by that much as it is a 650cc motorcycle. I've only seen restrictions on other types of bikes mainly but who knows you might find out more then I could lol good luck!

  2. Sounds like you replaced all the necessary parts that I would hmm... If I were you I might check all the wires leading from ignition to spark plug boots. Are all wires secure and tight? Grounded properly? Did you get the proper plug for your bike? Determine what gap of plug your bike takes and compare to the new one you got with a feeler gauge. Let me know, good luck!

  3. is not about how much was used, its about materials in contact with... water, air, and stuffs.

every year I use to put never used climbing ropes and other things for climbing in the trash bin just because its to old. and to old mean 5-6 years from fabrication date. yes, all, never used! so be careful in witch trips you use this helmet :)

That's exactly what I was thinking! Lol I think on rides longer then around my city I'll use my one with visor missing and put goggles on and take visor off :)

  4. Just buy a jug premixed coolant 50/50 like tone said I use Prestone 50/50 I bought a jug of it at autozone and keep it in the garage for topping off or whenever I flush my system in my scoot.

  5. Bad situation I can understand... lucky I guess I have my backup bike, and my gas sipper, my ole reliable custom 150cc scooter. Both brakes are on handlebars it's a twist and go cvt transmission gets 90mpg also which is why I ride it still lol

  6. Yea that's true also lol on another note if you or anyone knows how can I check to see if my in tank fuel filter is in my tank still? I can't tell inside of its there that's why I use an inline filter just to be sure I'm getting filtration but I know if you don't have the in tank filter you loose the reserve outlet on the petcock valve which isn't so good if you run out of gas on the road and realize you don't have the reserve option anymore D:

  7. Yea your exactly right hmmm... I'll try both ways and see, at least I'll have tried and the other three will be clean as can be and hopefully my bikes running issues will be solved lol. I'm putting four new plugs in, cleaning carb putting in new gaskets in bowl, new vaccum and fuel lines, new air filter, new gear and motor oil change, and just picked up a battery tender jr wall plug in for keeping my battery strength well maintained :)

  8. Hello all quick question need some suggestions. On my xj bike of course there are four carbs, well, the previous owner before me decided to jb weld the bowl onto the carb bottom rather then replace the screws for whatever reason and the carb being aluminum i was dodgy about grinding it off, so my question is how could I possibly remove the carb bowl to clean the float bowl and jets with cleaner without purchasing a new carb? I was thinking maybe just take carbs off, disassemble rest, and on the one with jb weld on it just take the piston valve, spring, and needle out and just spray carb cleaner into bowl from top of carb, let that sit for a couple hours, then open float bowl drain screw to empty cleaner out then just wash whole carb in gas and shoot compressed air throughout lol any other ideas, thanks!

  9. Had the same problem on my 150cc carb when I was working on it. Checked all components including carb as I suspected fuel delivery was to blame or an offset fuel/air mixture screw but turned out being electrical. I woul clean carbs, check plugs and filter for proper working capability then make sure your carb screws are set correctly as in the fuel/air mixture. If this doesn't work check all vacuum lines for cracks or loose connections as this flaw.can wreck havoc on an engine. Lastly if the problem comes down to it check your stator for proper functioning as this was my problem spot when encountered, good luck.

  10. Just saw this club forum thought I'd join. my names John I like older bikes and working on them in my spare time. I currently own a 1983 midnight maxim 750 and am in the process of fixing the carbs and electrical system. just wanted to get that out and introduce myself, thanks
