    i have a 2007 yamaha dt50r. it has no electronic derestriction whatsoever. it revs too 10,000 smoothly.

    i run a 110 main jet, and fiddle with the airscrew depending on temperature.

  2. I get the stutter at full throttle, have done from new. Some days it won't get to its 67 either. where is the speed sensor fitted? Is it where the wires are connected to the float bowl of the carb?

    think logically, why would the speed be sensed in the float bowl?

    you obvisely have NO clue what your on about, and i strongly suggest you take the bike too a dealrer. in the mean time, if you think logically the speed might possibly be sensed by that wire coming out of the speedo leading down the fork and entering a black sender unit, next too your front disc brake (black block thing on a silver disc)

    check its all connected (the wires coming from it and connectors behind your speedo)

    fix that - seel it, and buy an tzr125 =)

  3. lovely bike Xr400, well i had an '82 DT50 just a few months ago and it went ok with K&N ( on when i got it) and standard exhaust. I was getting 40/45 on flat and i weigh around 12 stone. How fast was you looking to go??

    im not ure, id like a true 50mph easily.. at the moment. its struggles too get there on the flat. new exhaust im thinking?

    also, its got a bit more vibbey, anyway i can solve this?

    it used too be smoother too ride. .?

  4. totally crap as a first bike, they need revvin. they need lots of maintenance. easy too stal. useless unless your very confident, very peaky power- this means they have what is known as as a sharp power band (the power suddenly hits) if you drop out of this band, the bike has very low power.

    something like an ttr250 is a much better choice ..

  5. i URGENTLY need parts for my 2007 model dtr50. i rang fowlers (main yamaha dealer) and they asked for a number on a white sticker..?!

    anyway, i need the rear bolt from the axle through the rear wheel, m13 i belive. also need a graphics kit!

    I CANNOT FIND ANYWHEREEE THAT SELLS ANYTHING!

    im seriously thiking about selling the thing, but the graphcis are all mashed up. and ther bolt is self loosening. the threads stripped a bit. so any ideas anybody?

    also, it barely does 80kmh now. soo. . servicing for the minarelli am6?

    starting too regret buying it now..

  6. pull the snorkel off the top of the airbox, i take it you ahve chanegd the ejts in your carb?

    you could go upto a 13 tooth sprocket, it comes with a 11 tooth standard. it gives it betetr top speed but a little less low down.

    i have a 2007 dtr50 . .the endruo model. great bike.

    also, you know the pipe coming off the exhaust, plug it up, it basically recycles old fumes from the exhaust so they wont burn aswell as fresh air =)

  7. right, i have a 2007 yamaha dt50r de restricted. its all completely standard. i drilled the hole out of the exhaust and cut a bigegr hold in the airbox. put a 110 main jet in the carb. its been running fine for about a month but yesterday it emlted the aprk plug. so i went out, got a new iridium plug. and went out today, all went fine..untill about 30mins into the ride. there was the same 'burrr' noise at high revs and the power went, let off the throttle and stopped. waited for 5mins. then started her again. rode her home (about 10mins)

    then thrashed her down the road, i think it all fouled the plug but not quite meleted. gouing too check in a second.

    is it running too weak?

    this is really bugging me :angry:

    its usually on big stright roads, would a 105 jet stop this?

  8. Hey.. wondering if somebody could give me a little insight on this.. I have a Yamaha DT 400.. and sometimes when I shift.. I forget to hit the clutch.. BUT!.. it shifts with no problems with no clutch. Is it necessary all the time to use the clutch? Really just wanting to know incase i'm in the trail and my clutch cable goes on me.. I know that when I'm stationary.. I have to use the clutch to go in to neutral or first after stalling it in mud or something.

    Thanks for any help you fella's (and gals if there are any) can give me.

    you shoudl always sue your clutch!

    if you dont, your whole trnasmission could eb damaged resulting in big reapir bills! :o

    your clutch also sounds like its out of adjustment if it changes gear the same with it in or out...

  9. done, still with stock cdi, i can hit 55mph on the flat :D:D

    soo, the cdi restrictor is not a restrictor in speed, its too avoid engine damage. . you needs to totally remove the blockage just before the expansion chamber and then cut out a biggg hole in the arbox top . . then, you need to jet up too a 105-110 main jet, and...youve got a flyer =D

    cause its annoying now, and you shouldnt need too rev over 8000rpm?

    8000rpm is very high. . i never go over 6000rpm cause it just doesnt feel right?

    i think i might get a new gianelli full system exhaust?

    and drill the aribox, then re jet the carb again. cause its amazingly slow atm!

    any one?

    and this duacati cdi?

  11. I bought the same one (Yamaha DT 50 2007) and I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM you have. Modifying the exhaust is and changing the main jet to 90 95 or 100 is a good start but it is not enough...

    The real problem of the new 2007 model is that it is restricted electronically on the CDI. The CDI refuses to go upper 8000 turns/minutes wich is totally stupid for a 2 stroke engine. The new model 2007 is now working like a cow...

    At present I'm talking with my yamaha revendor who says he doesn't know yet what to do.

    I also looked at the differences between the two models 2006 and 2007 and the CDI is a lot different (much more wires on the new 2007 model) so I don't know yet what to do... I think I'll study a way to change the CDI with a different one, I heared, but not sure, that the "TOP PERFORMANCE ducati CDI for minarelly am6" could work, but I'm not sure yet on how to mount this...

    If anyone has THE SOLUTION or any DT50 2007 service manuel or electrical drawings, please let us know!!!

  12. Could possibly be a starter clutch issue? :unsure:

    My old Seca550 did the same thing.....until I finally got fed up with it & didn't want to spend stoopid $$ to replace it. <_<

    So I yanked it & bump started that beast for the last 6 years I had it. :blink:

    Made for some interesting looks after fill-ups @ the petrol station. :D

    You're lucky.....you've still got the kicker......& besides, it's only a 125...which is alot easier to kick start than say....a 550 like mine. ;)

    new battery?

  13. okay, i got the exhaust off and drilled the cone out from 8mm to 20mm, its much better now, i jetted upto a 96 main jet, next steps. . im getting my ass kciked my these derbi sendas...i need mroe speed, is the exhaust the onnllyyy restriciton?

    cause it only goes like 47mph now...oo, new sprockets 1 tooth bigger is on order...

    My mates gilera smt, and derbi senda drd...just piss all over me! :(

  14. well on a dt125 2007it restristed on the front pipe, need to buy a derestrited front pipe or cut your one open and reweld!! hope that helps

    okay, is it like a washer sitting welded in the pipe?

    because just ebfore the expansion chamber theres a join with 4 bolts and a spot weld, would i just need to break the spot weld and drill out the cone/washer?

    will i need to re jet the carb?
