  1. Ive done 20 miles on (flashing) reserve on my XJ6, at that point I was taking it easy and don't know how much more was in there.

If I try real hard and keep to legal speeds, accelerate smoothly, best behaviour etc, I can get 170 on a tank (only managed it once lol)

But usually more like 140 ish.

  2. The very expression 'Water Proof' appears bizarrely open to interpretation

I've just exchanged Frank Thomas leggings and a Furygan Dragon jacket for letting in water.

Gotta say Simon (manager) at J & S New Malden, could not have been more helpful with this.

Both garments were 100% waterproof. Not resistant. not a wee bit impervious to damp. 100% fekin waterproof!!

Apparently a product only has to survive 5psi ( I do not know for what period) to get a 100% water proof tag.

But with respect Stevie, you were told they where not water proof

    Well, they didn't lie.

  3. Nice panoramic. Did you run into (poor choice of words lol) anyone else from the ACE?

I saw one or two here and there. Rode most of the way with two wheelie pop-in youngsters and a cool dude on a retro Ducati but lost touch on one of the last roads in.

Some cager had broken down on a very narrow road with a couple of caravans waiting to get round him, nightmare!! So bikes were filtering over hill and dale to get passed.

    Poor fekker :(

  4. Ive just clocked up 5K since January (Mostly Basingstoke to Dorking commute approx 45 mile each way)

The XJ6N appears to have needed very little.

I do have a Scott Oiler fitted.

I've only cleaned it a couple of times and then WD40'd the obvious bits, topped up a wee bit of oil.

And I topped up the coolant (mostly because I had no clue through the 'view panel' what the level was lol)

  5. If you M4 it in, don't end up riding the North Circ' north through Ealing, It will be very busy and subsequently very sh!te!

Check out the M40 route (maybe via M25). It will take you to the Hangar Lane roundabout, which is just South of the Cafe.

    We're gonna pick-up the A40 from Oxford

Basingstoke > Winchester > Oxford > Ace (Still enjoying getting the miles in )

I shall look out for a foamy head (?)

    Have a good one ;)

  6. I started by replacing my rear Dunlop at Micheldever tyres, then did Basingstoke to Rykas, A24 down to Horsham then A272 to Loomies for a Bacon n egg bap. Followed by Corfe Castle for cream tea. Then back home via Winchester.

    275 mile loop.

A272 was brilliant, highly recommended :-)

  7. Yeh, it was a pretty cool day. their food portions are massive :-)

Definitely some beautifully looked after machines out there and a couple of rat Harleys.

I'll be heading back up for another visit. Maybe do their Noob Monday night.

Where about's in Hants are you?
