    LS2 Gear oil

I am sure it will be ok. I did not run before draining, but the bike stood without oil for 3 days before i filled new oil. I had to buy a new gasket. More oil came out when opening the plug after the 3 days. The bike stood on the main stand. Thank you for good help people.

    LS2 Gear oil

Ok. I filled 750 ml (7,5 dl). I found the stamped sign on the cover saying 750cc. After that I checked the level with the dipstick, and the level was way over the two lines at the lower part of the stick. About half way up the stick. I guess the level will drop some when I start it and let it run for a while? Cannot start now because of some stuff.

Thank you both. I cannot beleve how I could have missed that information in the manual. I mean, the type of oil I discovered and purchased, but somehow missed the quantum. I read it many times looking. Well, I am 52. That must be it I will also look for the markings on the cover....again. Problem solved

    LS2 Gear oil

Hi folks. In the manual for my Yamaha LS2 it says the following about filling of gear oil: Pour transmission oil through the oil filler in quantity marked in relief on the right hand side of the crankcase cover. What does "marked in relief on the right hand side of the crankcase cover" mean? Remember I am from Norway, and english is not my native language :eusa_whistle:Beside the text there is a picture showing a hand holding the oil dipstick half way out of the filler hole. Does it mean that I must fill oil utill it reaches between two lines moulded into the rubber on the dipstick, or does it mean that the quantity in litres are stamped on the crankcase cower? Anyone?

Thank you people. And thank you for caring. Well, I think it might be a problem to find a Chrome Restorer that can do the Tinning process, but there are several companies doing Chroming. I am normally driving my HD Heritage Classic (very bling-bling) and have had to Chrome parts several times. I have come across fenders for her, but they are expencive and the sellers are in Japan or other eastern countrys. They tend not to answer when you try to ask a question. For example this one: http://handmadethaicountry.ecrater.com/p/11140018/yamaha-ls2-ls3-rs100-front How can I be sure this will fit my bike? Are all fenders for all the LS2s the same? I know there where done some small changes to e.g. the tail light. After 1973 ore something the tail light went back from a square shape to a round shape and so on. So I know my bike most likely is a 1974 model because it is registered first time in 1975. I think it is a big risk to spend this amount of money on a part I do not know will fit. Therefore I try to ask them to take 2-3 measurements, but no aswer yet. Ill just keep hammering I thing, and slowly I will get there. I guess this is what is called restoring...

I know, but both the fenders and bort exhaust pipes has god dents. I don t think it is a good idea to straiten out the dents and then put on Chrome. It has to be perfect, if not it shows.

Thank you Sacha. I aggree. I have wanted one ever since I was 16 and had a Honda 100, My friend had a Suzuki 100, and another had the LS2. I think it looks like a little lady. I will call her Elin.:-) This bike will be my project for the coming winters. I know parts is hard to come by, and they are also expencive. It is first and foremost fenders and exhaust pipes I am looking for. E-bay is a good place to look, and I am working on that.

Clarify something for me. Where you able to follow the picture ling and look at the bike? Have tried myself, but since it is my link it might not give the same result

Ahhh. So you were able to follow the link? Good. Then I need to find out how to get the link to appere as a picture. DropBox is an internett server, and it should work like the other "Cloud" programs mentioned in the FAQ topic. Yes this one is really nice. Two cyl. originally 100 cc. Now 125 cc. Two stroke. Sounds like an F1 car

    Yamaha LS2

Hi folks. New to the club. I have bought a classic Yamaha LS2. It is white and red, which means it was sold here in europa. I am trying to get parts for it, but that is not so easy. Does anybody in this forum have knowledge about this models? I would really like to know the colour codes for the red and white. Anyone?
