  1. ive built my bike up and it started earlier but i just need to know what this is for? is this the snorkel i need to remove? and whats this white hose connection thing? im not sure if its just another overflow? if not please correct me
  2. replace the spark plug might not be the answer but its a start always check the sparky first try starting without the elecy start with a new plug if it starts hurrah if not then could be a bad earth or connection that's vibrated off maybe?
  3. bikes built up and could be running but as a result of this arctic weather my throttle has frozen solid and im not even going to attempt to refill my coolant + barrel as it'll just freeze within a hour so i think i will wait till i take it for a ride, on the upside it has a ton of compression and should be great just going to hate the wearing in period.
  4. yeah a wr 250 sounds alright from what the video says anyway, i want to get one of them when i get another years no claims.
  5. ive read the new rules but have a minor understanding so will i be able to jump onto a 250 when i pass? im 19 years old will be 20 in march i passed my bike theory last month and will be doing my full bike test when i get my dt on the road.
  6. im 19 now but when i was 16 my insurance on a 50cc speedfight was 162 quid then my renewal was 66 quid that was with mce as well but i had to ring about to get the first quote and play 2 company's off, say you got a cheaper quote from another company and 9 times out of 10 they will try match it if not beat the price and make sure everything u put down is 100% true because (touch wood you don't) but if u have a bad crash and the information u gave them is not true they will find anyway they can to worm there way out and not pay up!
  7. ok ill order that and just to double check the arrow on the piston points to the exhaust port dont it?
  8. right ive got the piston kit sorted i was wondering can anybody name the top make for gearbox oil for my dt i wanna get the best as its probably not been changed in a while
  9. ahhhh okay im just waiting on the piston once thats fitted ill be putting the beauty back together
  10. the engines around a 2003 there all the same i believe from 1988-2005 and no its a manual choke and its a dtr
  11. im waiting on the piston kit now but i have taken everything off and was just wondering i know were the twostroke pipe goes but theres 3 pipes coming off my carb (different to the overflow pipes and i don't know what ones for what im new to these engines as ive only messed with 50cc peds before, any pics and info would be much appreciated.
  12. thanks mate i put it in right then just wanted to double check
  13. i was cleaning the engine head and i unscrewed the thing that the hose goes onto and something with a spring poped out what way would i put it back together with the spring going down towards the barrel or with it up to the top of the head?
  14. yeah i have 2 of them on the front and my tail tidy kit has them exact ones on it already installed i just need to think of a way to fix the hole tail tidy to the bike without screwing it into the mud guard
  15. yeah my light is underneath as well i was thinking of making some sort of clamp that bolts in and tightens onto the end of the tail tidy under the mudguard
  16. it has pretty much the same style indicators to the one your thinking of i just don't like the old style number plate holder and light its just too big and bulky.
  17. its a 1993 model and really i'll have a look at that actually i have a really smart one but its only the screw universal one ill take a look and if its better ill probably get it
  18. has anybody got any ideas on how i can fit a universal tail tidy kit of my dt's stock bracket i don't fancy drilling into the mud guard the bolts look tacky and the bikes not exactly looking the best as it is any ideas would be great
  19. got it out and the threads all in one piece engine came out so easy after that! ive spent hours getting the piston parts out so happy i don't have to split the engine, managed to find and get the bigger parts out then i filled the crank with 2 stroke and the smaller parts raised to the top then i poured it out going to do that a few more times to be on the safe side but it turns over perfect! had chance to clean the engine up it looks so much cleaner now going to order a piston kit and hopefully she starts!
  20. first time in ages ive had chance to do some work because of the rain the thread sideis now flush with the swingarm and out of that side of the frame but it wont go any more i can lift the engine front of the engine inches higher than the bolt hole it even moves around but the bolt just dont seem to wanna move its doing my head in i think im going to have to cut it but i cant get a cutting tool in to do it any ideas?
  21. yeah ill try all of them tomorrow this parts beginning to be harder than splitting the actual engine lol
  22. ive un bolted everything needed i can move the swing arm up nd down and put a socket on the right side of the bolt and spin it but it just wont tap out when i stick a wooden block on the thread side it just digs into the wood and won t budge i dont want to hammer it because i want the thread to be fine i can even move the engine around a bit in the frame its doing my head in any suggestions? ive attacked it with a can of wd40 and going to leave it over night and try again in the morning if i do have to go mad with it and ruin the thread are they easy to buy second hand? i have no idea why its being so stubborn the engine does look like it hasnt been cleaned in 10 years tbh
  23. i have the v5 and it is indeed the 50 frame its just weird that everything fits were it should surely they would have half the parts missing from lack of space?
  24. haha now ive realized that what year parts do you recon i should buy for it?
  25. were you highlighted ive just went and looked it actully has 49 cc stamped but it looks like it has been done by sombody else the sizes of the piston are 125cc piston sizes
