  1. Thanks for all your help on this guys, figured I would need a new lock anyway so I ended up drilling it out, now all I've got to do is find the correct replacement. I know the part number is 341-23408-01-00 but does anyone know if the locks from later models will fit? I've seen a few on ebay from thailand but these seem to relate to 77 / 78 models.
  2. Thanks for this useful piece of advice, I think I'll give it a try.

    1976 DT175C

Hi, Can I ask, I'm a bit of a newbie myself and just restoring a DT175B. Did you get your seat recovered, if so, who did it and how much did you pay. Mine is in a similar state and I've seen the prices for the foam & cover. Thanks
  4. Unfortunately the bike had no ignition key or barrel. I've managed to remove the cover and I thought the lock would slide out but it doesn't, something seems to be holding it in. Any ideas, I've got to replace it anyway so when it does come out I'm not bothered about the condition of it.
  5. Hi, I'm currently in the process of dis-mantleing a DT175 and someone has lost the key to the steering lock. Is there a way to take the steering lock out without butchering the cover? Thanks
  6. Now sorted, had the damper the wrong way round.....derrrrrr
  7. Hi Nayruf, Sorry for the slow reply, somehow my time seems to get eaten up by the wife & child. I'm trying to fit it with the damper attached as this seems to be the way the manual shows it, it was just a trial fit as I've still got a lot of work to do on it before it's back on permanently. Thanks for your assistance.
  8. Hi all, Am new to this forum and looking forward to contibuting. I'm currently restoring a 1975 DT175 imported from the USA, I've just bought an ignition barrel that should have fitted but the mounting points on my top yoke are too far apart. Is there 2 different versions of the ignition barrel? Thanks
  9. Hi all, I'm a new member to this forum but do contribute to carpeTDM (World of knowledge for TDM's & highly recommended for anyone who has a TDM) on a regular basis. I've recently acquired a 1975 DT175 that was imported from the USA and has stood in someone's garage for 12 months. I'm looking to restore it as believe it or not it is almost rust free, so far I've stripped it down to the chassis and have not come across 1 rusted fastner. I'm pretty sure that it's a 1975 model from the research I've done, BUT from the 1 part I have ordered which is the ignition barrel the mounting points don't seem to line up with the top yoke, my points on the yoke seem to be further apart. Does anyone know if there where 2 different ignition barrels? I hope I can contribute to this forum, my 1st bike was a TZR125 that managed to show 100mph on the speedo crouched in. Look forward to replies
