Yes, it is the CDI unit. I've called breakers in my area and they dont have one specific one I'm looking for. It's a TID 14-78 A Do anyone have one going spare? I'll try the wanted section I reckon. Thanks again.

Thanks for the advice gents. The battery is fine but I'm not getting a spark. I did check the circuits with a multimeter and it does point to the ignitor unit. The fuses seemed fine but maybe it would be worth stripping and cleaning. It would be a much cheaper and simpler fix than if it was the ignitor.

That being said, the bike had been sitting in a garage for a while and it now doesnt want to start. I've checked the electrics and I'm pretty sure that the ignitor unit needs replacing. I've been calling breakers and checking online but cant seem to find a replacement one. The specific model I'm looking for is a TID14 - 78. I dont suppose anyone has one spare they'd be willing to sell or knows where I can get hold of one? Also, is there maybe another model of ignitor unit that would work on my bike? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Evening all I've just inherited my first bike (An XJ600 from 1991) and am eager to get on the road. The bike is in need of some work and I love getting my hands dirty so want to complete it myself but will definitely need some expert advice on the way.
