  1. sometimes rather than sitting up a bike for a while its worth firing her up and go down the street and back up to get things moving and working every now and again...

when my bike was sorn i used to warm her up and go up and down the drive way a couple of times admitenly i looked like a cock but atleast i knew she was still having oil circulated and everything was owrking as it should, i would have gone around the back garden but the wheel spin marks are still in the grass off 6 months ago lol

  2. I have ridden with a tdr 125 running the athena kit. 90 mph bike. No fantasy either. Blackhat was with me at the time.

It may be worth mentioning that it did kill the motir in the end. Something in the box was the description i last heard.

If you keep it sensible then i see it as a good way to improve a dt. Licence and insurance not withstanding.

sounds good to me, i mean im not after 90mph i just want to be able to hit 60mph uphill thats it really no wheelies etc i couldnt give a shit about having the fastest dt around etc just a little more reasonable engine hp...

i find the bike comftable and fun until i hit the 60mph roads with hills in them

    cheers

  3. well im not bothered about insurance.

im more interested in the benifts to my bike, i know the bottom end is in good condition - no rattles and big end bairing seems nice and tight..... its food for thought.

i dont want a wheelie machine im not that kinda rider i want to be able to hold a steady 60mph up hill with an extra bit power for over taking, i go up and down the gears and i can hear her saying "get off you fat twat" by the way im 16.5 stonne and 6ft 1" tall so im as light as a ships anchor and as airodynamic as a slab of concrete

  4. well pal i bought what looked liie a bargain bike for £550 spent £600 still couldnt get the heep to work properly sold it for £500 (a loss of £650+)..

trouble with me is i dont know enough about bikes to spot a good deal or a pile of shit lol.

i took 2 other people with me when i went for my dtr people who owned them before and knew some about bikes lol

if you know your shit and you get the feeling go for it, i get the feeling but i dont know my shit so i just watch the deals go by :(

  5. well people ive been looking around for something with a little more hp and ive been looking some more, now i stumbled across a thread about the athena 170cc a few people gave some reviews of this kit and they seem to sound positive.

(i also know a company on westgate road newcastle who said they would dial my carb in for £15)

most said you dont gain much in the way of topend but its more low down and mid, so in essence you can use 6th gear and it actually pulls...

im guessing that if the bottome end can handle it this would be a decent little upgrade - the price of £400 is a little steep but im getting sick of my little bike slowing down going uphill i would just like it to have the ability to hold the speed or even a little bit excelleration without having to screw the living rings out of it lol..

anyone had any experience with these?

    cheers

  6. you all sound like the brit bikers in the 60's when the Japs first brought their machines over :babyha:

unfortunatly for me i wasnt around then, but i bet the japs stuff back then is better than the chink shit now... ive been on a few and still laugh at me mates who have the chinese road legal quads - one of the other lads has just dropped £2.5k on a can-am monster of a quad and that mainly gets used for towing the chinese shit back to the roadside to get picked up lol

  7. jesus im looking through the 125's on ebay, rather than typing in a make/model i just put the cc in see if anything catches my eye and all i can see is chinese tosh.....

i know when there cheap there decent for a laugh or cheap hack but there going for £k's - there is gonna be young lads out there 17yrs old who dont know any better buying a bike because it looks cool only to find the bolts are made of a metal/cheese mixture.

there should be a chinese shit filter on ebay defo.. anyone bought one of these p.o.s??

like a hyosung - sounds like chinese sauce to me lol

  8. Yeah, its a nationwide problem :/

yes my friend and going by your list of bikes you fit into that bracket aswell lol...

seriously i had 2 full size bike, pitbike and the nephews little quad in my garage - it was like being caught fingering nextdoors cat the look on her face when she seen them all in the shed, pure disgust!!!

a piss ive only gone and spilt me beer on the frickin couch........

  9. ive got a dtr and a proper spark plug tool, its got the 45degree nuckle joint in it and i can slip it over the top of the plug then move it around so i can give a little pull and out she comes, just take the bite off it then in with the hands you go.

the trick is not to over tighten it for the next time, you want it nipped up so you cant turn it with your hands but you dont want it nipped up so tight that when you come to take it out it doesnt want to come out

  10. clutch plates arent slipping.... try reving it to say 3,000rpm then knock it into first gear with clutch pulled in should jump a fraction but cover the front brake incase it pulls off on you.

if it jumps but still stalls increase the revs a litlle more next time

i only say this because mine does it if its been standing a couple of days, and i havent changed the gear box oil in a while

  11. even with out all this full open throttle etc etc just taking the plug out after an average use would surfice - i change my plug every 3 months and the colour is always light brown on the plug i replace and i know its running right.

doesnt this only really matter on a new plug when trying to dial in the carb?

  12. Thanks for the replys . Hopeing to pick it up tommorow and my insurance are allowing me to insure it as a second bike so il b keeping my fazer aswell

    result...

you can never have to many bikes
