  2. another question is the coil is earthed in the diagram is it enough just for it to be attached to the frame or does it need a earth wire?
  3. heres a question to a electrically wired member if I wire this circuit only will this be enough to run the bike or do I need more?

  6. hello does anyone know what the basic wiring I would need to run the bike 1 running at all bear in mind there is no loom on the bike at the moment I have a rectifier , indicator relay, cdi ?(not sure if it works though yet , coil what would I need to connect ??? any ideas would be great

  8. it would be better if I could get a picture on here because that good description you just gave does not sound like this carb at all , the two pipes running downwards from either side are clear and quite trhin they don't sem like coolant pipes but the three stubs on the top of the carb are quite large for a larger pipe the one protruding from the float bowl is narrow diameeter

  10. just tried uploading a pic but it wont let me cant figure that out , heres a description there are two clear pipes either side running to bottom open , thnere is one pipe sticling straight out the s\ump, then two pipes on one side on the top and one pipe on the opposite side any ideas ???
  11. hello everyone , I have nearly finished the complete build of the mk 1 I started nearly three years ago now , it was not a restoration but a complete build after buying a frame not knowing what it was exactly then starting from there with no knowledge of motorcycles and not ever rode one , im getting my licence to ride this though , just wondering if anyone can shed light on a issue I have wiuth the carb I have a mikuni carb but that's all that's written on it no numbers no nothing , the problem I have is that im not quite sure what goes where , there are that many pipes and hoses coming off the damn thing , if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be greatful , the complete rebuild I will be posting on here when its done , cheers in advance.

  13. hello can anyone shed some light on this for me I have a 10 v bottom end with a 34x ypvs barrel on it and head ,the powervalve is capped I get a 35 a exhaust and when I offer it up the manifold to exhaust port is wrong way around , where am I going wrong ? , am I right in thinking the 35 a exhaust is in the same position as the one for the 10 v barrel and head but not for the 34 x head ,......im confused anyone help at all would be very great full.
  14. hi haven't been on here for a while now , but wandering if anyone knew of the best place to source parts for the yam dt125 lc mk 1 , nearly two yrs on and im still rebuilding the mk1, ebay parts are rare and very overpriced I have most parts but there are some I cannot find at all ,if anyone could give me any pointers I would be greatfull because im in two minds wether oor not to give the rebuild up aas it seems imoposssible to finish

  16. not really a technical query i suppose but not sure exactly were to put it , does anyone know a somewhere were i can obtain a parts list for a dt 126 lc mk 1 , doing a rebuild finding iy difficult to get parts any particulaar sites to go to cheers
  17. does anyone know at all how you can get a idea if a bottome end of the engine is ok like the clutch and gears when the engine is not in the bike or running , it does turn freely and the piston goes up and down and it seems to engage gears and rotate is there a procedure for checking it at all or is it a case of putting it together and then testing it ,
  18. how do i get details of previous registrations from the vin use search on this site ? ive already conntacted yamaha they confirmed it was a 82 dt 125 lc so that would be a mk 1 and its 12 w so its restricted uk reg isnt it , cheers for the reply
  19. i was wondering of anyone could help me in anyway i only have frame numbers on my dt 125 lc mk1 no engine number no reg no v5 no name of previous keepeer etc , been in touch with dvla with frame number and they just senyt my check back and said if i didnt have reg number well its no go i would have to have the bike examined by a sva then they would do somethinng , is there anyway of finding out the reg details etc with the frame number only with some hpi check or something just a thought.
  20. just a quick question if anyone has the answer / is a dt125 r shock the same as a dt125lc shock ? and will all theparts of a dt125r fit a dt125lc frame ,too much information , anyway cheers for reading ,
  21. just not long aquired a dt 125 lc frame and hoping to restore to near former glory ,ive already posted on here this is nnot my first post , but got that one wrong ,anyway any advice i will be needing plenty , one question is that a dt 125 r shock is it the same as a dt 125 lc shock ,i know the swing arm is different but i thought the shock was the same size , or should i leave that question for the forum somewhere else , so the next person to come alonmg and tell me off for posting in the wrong place i apologise in advance , well good to be on here and looking forward to getting the lc together and running ,
  22. i just got a engine of someone who said it was a dt 125 to put in a dt 125 lc mk 1 frame , trouble is it doesnt look like a dt 125 lc engine as shown in the haynes manual ,the oil pump is on the top and water pum on the bottom ,so im wondering if this is off a later model if anyone has any ideas , the second problem is i went to check the numbers to see if i could find out the engine and guess what nonumber the plate where it should be the square on the top f the engine looks like it has been filed away there is only a short number on the left casing 3BN02 Y-1. would i still be able to use this engine on a road bike?
