  1. I very much look forward to the new project thread. Hope you saved the toaster tank for it?!

I can imagine it would be emotional, especially after all the work you did on it. Onwards and upwards though eh?!

  2. Seems to do the job. Never used one on the Tiger as the battery is good enough to light a small village for a week. Battery on the ST is a bugbear so I bought one as I spend a fair amount of time out of the country with work. I have the Optimate connector installed on my battery so couldn't be easier to plug in if I feel it's getting low.

I've never had a battery konk out on me as the bikes get a fair good run up and down motorways but happy to know I have one in the house.

  3. Yes clutchless up shifts were easy on the Tiger so used to do it quite a bit on that. Get it right and it's seamless.

Don't do it much on the ST as it wants you to rev it much higher to allow for clutchless and I don't like to spend all my time in every gear giving it the beans because I'm dull like that...!

  4. That's cool - and yes, I also noticed how much easier a bigger bike is to handle at slow speed.

Does your clutch lever have span adjustment? That may aid your gear changes?

    Glad you're enjoying it though!

  5. Lol... Your nervous breathing at the beginning - I was exactly like that when I picked up the Tiger! I had a ride back home from Chesterfield where there were diversions etc in place, was so shakey! Collected my thoughts at home then went out for several hours. I did exactly the same as you and really had to be careful with the throttle. The pick-up was crazy! Collecting the ST was a much more muted affair.

Enjoy it, and stay safe! Great choice of bike and I'm sure you'll have many great adventures over summer.

  6. Of course not Capt! I jest...

Blackie - I can't imagine what those super sports must be like either. Mine kicks out 105bhp and it's shocking how fast it can go (for me, anyway) without really trying... More than enough bike for me.

  7. Well feel free to give me a shout if you want a chaperone over Snake Pass or other roads round here. We can bimble along together.

You do realise that you'll now definitely need to join us at the next Squires meet... Only caveat is first-timers have responsibility of printing the t-shirts...

  8. Really sorry to hear this OT... Was an absolute pleasure seeing you at the last two Squires meets and I sincerely hope to see you at the next one!

Stay strong and don't let it win.

  9. Good luck indeed! Just keep calm, keep your head up, relax your arms and ultimately remember your life-saver for the u-turn! Treat it like you're on a real road.

  10. you'll be able to buy her a printer from all the money you're saving :D

Possibly the wittiest response I've seen...! Made me chuckle somewhat...

Anyway sorry to hear you're in the dog house Drewps... Defo try to get the XS back on the road - loooovely bike!
