    well.. 4 hours ago was exactly 2 weeks

    bloody struggling today for some reason, not sure why

    think i need to go to the shop and smell some smelly people ( without getting caught ) :eusa_shifty: just to keep me put off

    just bought 2 new tyres for my car which my fag money for the last 2 weeks paid for :hyper:

    why are all the good things in life so expensive

    knew a guy years ago that had two triumph bonnies stolen from home, one after the other,

    so when the third one was bought it was stored as usual in the old wooden garage which happened to have a metal handle :idea::idea:

    so when he locked garage at night he ran a wire from the mains via the live, onto a crocodile clip and onto the handle

    and left via a small side door. his bike was never stolen again

    modern rcd trip boxes would probably trip but it was old style bakalite fuses then..

    worked for him !!

    my theory has always been

    i have got out of bed at strange hours of the day to earn money to buy things for me and my family,

    if a scumbag thinks he can just walk up and take it away he is being dilusional.

    well i am now on day 6 with no fags

    apart from a couple of dodgy moments i have managed to stay away from them

    yesterday was a good day as i was behind a woman in the co-op and she was stinking of stale fags

    then got to the front of the queue and looked at the price of them at the counter

    and walked out of the shop with a grin on my face

    firstly i do not smell like her and secondly never had to burst another tenner to get fags

    dont remember a capri,

    that would have been about 1985 to 1988

    i started off with a alfa romeo ti sprint

    moved onto escort xr3i with all injection parts replaced with twin weber 45`s

    first mate had mk1 escort with 2.1 lotus engine

    second mate, full rally prepared avenger.

    used to go to kames track at muirkirk on a sunday for a blast about

    those were the days,,, when you could get away with loads of stuff

    running on 4 star and not a catalytic convertor in sight, just a lot of popping and banging

    smokers smell orrible.

    you are right in what you say !!!

    what i started doing last night was washing things like jackets that i have not worn for a week or so as they are stinking of stale smoke

    i never noticed it before

    i am still stopped,,, had a couple of shaky moments but hanging in there especially now that i realise i was walking around like a " right smelly stinker "

    i can now watch all the smokers at work standing outside in the pissing rain while i stay in the warm staff room..

    so the incentive is now =

    £200 quid extra a month

    and not a smelly stinker

    and dont get soaked at lunch time

    is bobby jones disco still in ayr ??

    we used to race to there MANY MANY MOONS AGO ,,

    we left strathaven and the last one to arrive at the bar had to buy the round for everyone( anything from 10 to 15 pints )..

    the galston / darvel road was amazing after 6 pints at 3 in the morning

    honest officer we only drunk irn bru !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i did what you were planning.

    i went up 2 teeth on the front which was great on downhill sections but made 5th non existant.

    so i ended running about in 4th usually at high revs which destroyed the point of going up 2 teeth to help drop the revs at full throttle

    so ended up putting the standard 16 tooth back on and put up with being sluggish on long climbs

    this is on a xvs 125

    generally it is ok,, just when you get a long drawn out hill

    have been walking around with a pencil as a substitute fag since yesterday,

    probably end up with lead poisoning !!!

    anyway someone at work told me today to go to the chemist on the way home and get free patches ,,

    so i did ,,

    the pharmacist gives you a small interview and checks my carbon dioxide output on a wee machine

    then gave me enough patches for 2 weeks.

    so the idea is that i go back to see her in 2 weeks time and if all is ok i will get the lower dose patches for the next 2 weeks..

    all free of course

    do not know if you can get the same in england , as everyone gets free prescriptions here ( just because we are special )

    so between the patch on my arm

    my pencil substitute

    and a bit of willpower,

    time will tell

    I always do the trip meter method

    roughly 130 miles from brimmed with fuel

    sometimes wait till the last drop before reserve

    sometimes fill up with half a tank,, depends where i am going

    if i know there are not many petrol stations about or it is late at

    night and the local ones are closed ( rural ones seem to do office hours )

    petrol has been bought in recent years without much thought

    we put our trust in individual service stations to have clean tanks and our only choice is whether to have super unleaded or standard unleaded..

    now we are going to have to keep an eye on the pumps to see what we are putting in

    just like the old days

    I used to run my bikes on 2 star. and my car on either 4 or 5 star

    the car would not run on 2 star very well ( toyota celica )

    looks like we are going back to having a choice of pumps again !!!

    I would think that you are cutting it really fine on your weight,,

    loads of small independant companies about that would shift it for you ,,think you would be surprised

    for how little as well.

    There is also some kind of ban coming in this year to do with the use of tow dolly`s,, cannot find the link where i saw the details,

    bear in mind also that there is a law coming out this year that all trailers will have to be mot`d, it is to include everything from car transporter trailers right down to small garden rubbish trailers.. bloody europeans are at it again with their rules
