  1. In Greece (yeh we;re broke etc).. most riders don;t wear helmets due to the excessive heat (poor excuse I know) but there have been a couple of occasions whereby riders have passed out wearing them. It is legal requirement to wear a helmet there but in peak summer and during the day, the police will turn a blind eye if riders are behaving. (Unwritten rule, I guess).

Having ridden without a helmet (in the late 80's!), it is a great feeling and the spacial awareness is far far far greater but would never ride without one now given the dangers.

  2. Hi and welcome to the forum.

Saw your brief intro one the new member forum.

I own a YBR 125 (custom) and it's a fantastic bike both to ride and live with. It is also an excellent starter / commuter bike.

It's like a camel when it comes to fuel economy and very easy to mess about with if you are that way inclined.

As for getting you to the TT - depends where you are coming from... hasn't got the best top end speed and wouldn't go anywhere near a motorway on mine - that's for sure. (I get 60mph odd on a good run!)

  3. Also have a YBR 125 and found for the first 650 miles a '1st to neutral' was fairly frequent. Now at 750miles (and after the first oil change) it is better but yes still get the problem occasionally.

According to the dealer there is no real solution but happy to hear if anyone has any info to the contrary.

  4. Heart stopping stuff, especially the filtering between the trucks / lorries. I also commute into London (on my little YBR125) and the most dangerous part is when I;m filtering and a bigger bike / nutter on a scooter attempts to over take me through the narrowest of gaps. Sh*t myself, I do try move out the way but not always possible.

London riding isn't for the faint hearted - that's for sure. (and it's getting worse).

  5. Can't see how they can do that if you are still within your monthly contract period. Unless of course, there is a small print there that states they can do what the hell they want.

That said, if they do change the terms, you should be within your right to justification at the very least.

Best drop them a line and query it...
