  1. I've been thinking about buying a new set of brake lines but since my bike is an older model there isnt many options for stainless steal, so I'm left with the universal option. The only thing Im worried about is the inside diameter of the banjo fitting. Are they the same size for most motorcycles? I dont have any other bikes I can measure so just throwing it out there. Thanks!
  2. Two best thing to do to a Radian to keep it running is Clean&maintain the carbs and seal the tank. Its not that hard to get the carbs out it just takes a little elbow grease. Pull the seat, fuel lines, gas tank, choke and throttle cables. Loosen airbox and all eight booties, slide air box back then pull carbs back till they are free, turn the carbs clockwise or top towards the front of the bike then pull them out the left side of the bike. If you haven't cleaned them before I'd suggest getting a new needle valve set, and a fuel filter. I do admit its a pain in the butt pulling the carbs, I have done it countless times because of rust in my gas tank and cheap gas gelling up the bowls on hot summer days. Which reminds me, if you dont ride every day add some Stabil to your fuel.
  3. The Radian and FZ600 share the same carbs the only difference between the two that I can tell is the FZ600 has a lever for the choke on the left side of the Carbs while that Radain uses a cable. My choke cable got gummed up so I install the choke rod/lever from my FZ600 carbs and it works great with better control verses the cable actuated choke.
  4. Hey everyone, I always thought I was already member here until I tried logging in to post on a forum topic and had to search my email for a username/password only to find out that I was a yamaha FZ6 club member and not a YOC member, and I dont even own an FZ6 LOL! Moving on, I've owned a 1989 Yamaha YX600 (Radian) for about 4 years now and I have also owned a 1987 FZ600 that was really just a wrecked bike that I took parts off of for the Radian lol. But I learned a bunch about my bike in the process of tearing down the FZ600. Since then I'v done a few small mods to the Radian (oil cooler, l.e.d Litghting, horns etc) And I also make videos of my bike and post them on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/sackcheck Hope to keep on learning and helping others through YOC, THANKS!
