  1. ho yes, i see now... but in fact i never see this carb on any chappy here ! we can find in France mainly LB50IIA type 13f, or rarely 439, (two speed auto), 1f1 (two speed auto with moutain gear switch), 1f3 and rare 511 (80cc), rare 543... But all have the mikuni VM14 carb. I know some LB80 have a VM16 carb... SO i don't know the LB50 PJ... one with pedals (bike mode) and from japan ?? It's looking exactly like our 1f1 model, but with a little different carb, as i see the drawing on bikebandit.com VM14 have this look : There is also a hose at the same place (marked 11), but it's just a venting pipe (often without hose) for letting the float chamber without air pressure. Hose is here just in case of a fall, to let go fuel under the engine and not on hot surface like cylinder I think it's surely the same for your carb. Maybe you'll want get off float chamber, blow in this hose, and see if air going out from a little hole on top of float chamber, so you'll be sure this is a venting pipe
  2. Hum, i'm not sure to understand well if this is that you want to see... there is only one vacuum hose, there : On the carb, there isn't vacuum hose !? there is a overflow pipe (not on all models) and a venting pipe. But maybe i understanding wrong That's over, right !
  3. Ooops, you're right ! I'm 33 years old, father of two young boys, and living in France near Bordeaux. My house is near vineyards, and i work 20km farest at Bordeaux, as graphist (print and mainly 3D). My wife now have her licence and drive in our familly car, and i have an 89 Honda Prelude (like SI at Us - 2l 150cv, 4WS)... but with 1.55€ one liter of fuel, i try to go at work more often with Chappy's (yeah, one thimble of fuel and i'm ready !!). I don't have licence for driving motorbike up to 125cc/13cv, so i use 250cc offroad only, and also a honda xlr 125 (in fact with 185 cylinder...) - but this one is in rebuild actually, i'm planning to sell it for pay a full motorbike licence (900€...), and after i dream of an old 500xt with a supermot setup, or a 350RD customized like this <3 <3 <3 I don't like heavy bike, it's more power but often less fun, and since i'm not afraid by 2 stokes engines, i have in mind 250rs, rdlc's, and some other like these with insane rpm ! The 4 speed chappy in France is very, very rare, so it's also cool for me to discuss with other country riders !
  4. Hello, take a look here (Uk/Fr/De languages)
  5. that's not a ON/OFF/RES switch : ON and RES are letting fuel go down with a vaccum hose wich is going from carb pipe to fuel switch (the hose need to be quite strong). The PRI mode is for bypass this system and let go down fuel anytime. if you want photos, drawings, maintenance sheets, i've lot of theses (in french, but you can see with photos, i can help to translate a little ...) If you plan to mount another carb (useless without a cylinder kit like polini's one, or a old DT50 kit with some adaptations) phbg from Delortho are good, but they need a larger intake pipe (from polini for exemple)
  6. this is a leak of oil in forks : only one have a spring which is only for pushing up, but shocks are absorbed with oil mouvement only, so it's going assymetricaly if there isn't enough in forks. You need to unscrew chrome rings, for pulling out bottom part of fork, cleaning all, refill with these quantity of oil : One with spring have 96ml, other one without spring 120ml (+- 4ml) with 10W30 motor oil. You can use motorbike fork oil. I tested sae 15, but it's too hard. You may consider changing fork spy joint... (don't know the exact name in english, sorry...)
  7. Hi, i was surfing around and, doh! i found this wonderfull site ! I surely speak english like my cat, i just hope you can understand me a little, but i can understand what i read (hum... not all, in fact ^^) I have actually one chappy (my third), a model 543 from switzerland (50cc, 4 speed manual cluch). Before i had two 13f (2 speed auto), one limited to 30 mph (stock and legal for france), and another tuned with 63cc polini kit, a 17.5 delortho carb and ninja exhaust (55mph). I'm started a project with the 543, i hope reach near 65mph. My first, after a good refresh in fact, for my wife : My second, when i buy it : hu, at this time was running less 20mph and after lot of work and juste some money : and now the 543 i'm close to finish (waiting for some polini stuff, and next a ninja or custom exhaust, blinkers, mirror, new seat, side stand...) Also had ten years a '86 250 YZ, i sold it last year to a friend for total renew, with factory stock racing engine, but i don't know if he will going deep in mud like before after so much work I have also a WR 250 '96, but not a yam, a husqvarna. More power than YZ, but i regret YZ wich was really an robust and very easy bike (but i was often close to death, but frame was very forgiving, thanks...
