  1. Rev Limiter De-Restriction Going into the speedo is a four pin connecting block. There are 4 wires going into the block and only 3 wires coming out the speedo side. Just find the Green & Black wire going into the block, clip it to separate it from the block, and strip the end and join a small piece of wire to it (long enough to to join to an earth on the frame). When the Green/Black wire is earthed to the frame this stops the YPVS from retarding over 7000 RPM. The engine should rev freely now. Can follow this post but my speedo has 4wires in an 4 out and they are red, blue, black, and black/white on both sides of the block???
  2. 1:Will I be able t rethread the back spindle on a dtr the threads are all mashed and the nut won't tighten...i thought maybe 20mm stocks and dies? 2:Also the bolt for the front linkage parts (25 no bolt/30 no securing bolt from page no107 in the haynes manual) is also theraded and I lost part no 30.... Can I hacksaw the ends off 25 no bolt and secure with a piece of 6mm rod and washers/nuts as a cheap repair?
  3. Much appreciated. I'll 'invest' in a yammy one and get the head re-skimmed If it need it. Thanks.
  4. I ll try and get a rubber one lol. It was a metal one
  5. Now then fella. Hope u r ok. I used a top end gasket set that cost about 15 quid mate.. Yes I think it was an aftermarket one..
  6. Does anyone have any advice when changing the head gasket on my DTR 125? I have performed this operation twice now and ,surprise surprise, it has gone again and is blowing water (shud be coolant-I know..!) back down the barrel and out the exhaust. I have used gasket sealant on both occasions. Should I get the head skimmed (the barrel has been rebored and new piston fitted) or am I doing something wrong when I am refitting the head. The gasket has been fitted the right way up and at first the radiator was not losing any water..Also -can I skim the heead and top of the barrel with a bit ov wet and dry??
  7. Yeah.. Its an 05 plate RE machine. Not that I even know the difference lol. It sez that on the V5 anyway.. One ov my mates reckon that Boysen reed valves, a bigger carb, and a full DEP system will make it even quicker. It does about 70-75 flat out now. Not that I wud break the law and do that on the Queens highway!
  8. Thanks. I will do. Im hoping to try and get my test so I can at least get a 33bhp machine. I love the dtr tho.. its dead easy to handle and quick for a learner bike. My Mum and Dad would never let me get one at 17-18, which is probably just as well coz I would've gone daft on it like some of me mates did do lol!
  9. Cant believe i didnt get a bike sooner. It is amazing! I have opened the power valve fully so it now goes like f89k and I want to know what carb to put on it to make it go even quicker. It is a dtr 125 re and is an 05 plate model with usd fork on and cagiva wheels. I would like some spoked enduro wheels if poss. Where can I get a bigger carb than the standard mishiwhatsit-thingy thats on it, and has ne1 got any idea where I can get some nice spoked wheels for it too. (as cheap as poss please!)
