  1. Thanks folks. I'd spotted the Black Camo Spada jacket and jeans and after a bit of begging Sports bike agreed to exchanging my RST jacket for the Spada 2 piece and let me makeup the difference. It's coming tomorrow so will let you know how it goes. I've got Spada racing gloves already and they've been pretty ace. I have to agree I really like the Weiss stuff. I got their catalogue through the door and although the prices would mean I'd have to save for a few months I'd be really happy with the look of them. It's going on the list of things I would like to have. Thinking a Scot Oiler is probably top of my list.
  2. Hello All, I was looking to see if anyone else has been having massive problems with the RST line of clothes. Currently I owe: RST leather touring jacket (never had any problems with it apart from weighing a ton) RST Raptor textile Jacket - The seam has come away at the elbow after only 6 months of having it RST Enduro textile Jeans - The seam split at the ankle and the velcro on the pocket at the sides came away. Saying that I've managed to get both textiles replaced without much hassle from Sportsbikeshop who were pretty damn awesome with their Customer service. I got the feeling that RST doesn't really stand up to hard biking, for instance I ride all weathers pretty much everyday (except snow). I'm thinking of switching over my textiles to Spada, but I don't really want to be having the same problems 6 months down the line with them. Any ideas or similar issues with RST?? Cheers Ally
  3. Welcome to the humble forum Beeky... Nothing wrong with a wee 125. I'm confused though as to why your mates think you should have something sportier? Stick with what makes you comfy and safe! I did both my CBT and my test on a YBR 125 and I have to admit they were quite fun. As for being 40... when you meet a guy at the Green Welly in the highlands of Scotland who at 60 is riding a 1000cc Honda CBR the last thing I was thinking was crisis more fair play!
  4. cheers folkies. I didn't want to be a divvy (boom boom) like some other people joining just to get a bit of advice. It's almost as bad as people not giving the nod! On the bright side though saying that on my way home last night I had a pillion giving me the big thumbs up from the back of his mates bike I just had to laugh... Toknaboot indeed!

I had the same problem Arthur. Except for me it was the legacy from driving a car. High Gear low revs etc... I've got the 09 Divvy and I'm finding it responds pretty well in 3rd at 30mph and only really shift to 4th when it's 35-40mph. Then it's really easy to open her up on the sliproads to the motorway ;0)
  6. Hi Folks, Just a wee intro since I've finally got round to joining the owners club. I've been a biker since I passed my test at the end of september last year and went out and bought an '09 Divvy the same day. I've been out in pretty much everything the great Scottish weather has thrown at me (apart from that month long snow and ice fest we had). I basically have wanted a bike most of my life but always felt it was too dangerous or I was too wee for a bike (I'm 5ft 8" by the way). A couple of biking friends had been nudging me to give it a try and eventually I took a backie on a Honda Deauville and that was it the bug bit me and a few months later (plus some trials regarding Cat A expiry dates with the DVLA) I walked out the test centre waving (quite literally) my pass certificate. Next challenge is to convince my missus that she isn't too wee to ride bikes... Cheers big ears... Ally
