  1. I must remember not to take pictures of reflective things in just my pants!!
  2. Cheers Paul, Sounds like way too much grief on the back wheel then, but good idea about the seat it would slim the profile of the middle of the bike and stop the wheel looking as narrow. I will look into that..
  3. Oh yeah, the missus has seen the spray on the decking and I did get in trouble. (no, I didn't spray outdoors, took it apart and did it in my shed (which, I know, needs a coat of creosote) just touched up underside oops). :*checks hands for hair I'm talking to myself*:
  4. Hi All, My project is nearly done but man.... does the little 125 back wheel look a bit 'Jedward'. Theres a decent size spacer in there....can I drop in a 'Hassellhoff' 250 wheel or is that the same size....how about a rip buff and reem 'Peter Andre' off a 600? (I'm resigned to not being able to have a 'Vin diesel' whatsoever). I realise how gay the above sounds, but hell with it, its the new millenium!! lol Heres my blacked out Dragstar, little bit to go (Carbon wrap on mudguards, rear light, tax and mot ought to be done really I guess) Oh, one last question, whats your opinion for LED kits, do I deserve a kicking for even asking, are they for 16 year old Moped jeans down your arse types or can I get one please!! haha..
  5. Well its nearly done. This is the bit where I pooed myself a bit having not so much as undone a nut before. I thought it was all going to go Humpty Dumpty shaped! But all the kings horses and all the kings men (actually, me, a spanner set and a screwdriver), put Satin black dragstar together again! Not the most dramatic change in the world, but funds are low. Next stage is to put carbon wrap on the front and rear mudguard and flat handlebars too. I'm considering a blue LED lighting kit, or is that seriously gay?
  6. Thanks for the link, I've given them a call and plan to pop down there. Its the hunt for wheel covers that tough, I think I need to find a friendly fabricator. Cheers Ty

  8. If anyone can help.... also posted in parts. Thanks.
  9. ** If an administrator looks in here could you change the thread title to 'Dragstar 125 custom project' please...thanks ** Heres the plan, but I'm getting loads more ideas by looking around the web, but with no prior experience of tinkering with bikes I'm keeping it simple for now. Already getting para about painting it and it coming out shite, but in for a penny!
  10. Had same problem on my 125 after being stolen recovered. Even with a new battery I was getting nothing but it was just one of the 30 blade fuses in the box under the l/h/s of the seat. Easy fix and was very relieved!
  11. Hi everyone, Well I've started now on my little Dragstar project. Mostly because of a 14 year old chav that nicked it and beat it up. Its running ok just cosmetic really so seems ideal time to play about. Its a 125 and I'm not looking to make it faster or something its not, just make it my own and moreso learn about bikes and hopefully the achievement of taking something and making it my own. I have never done so much as change a spark plug but so far I've worked out a few things and I'm happy with progress, but damn sure I'll e getting stuck here and there. I could really use some tips on where to source bits like pedals, mirrors, seat and custom bits as so far I've done a bit on google and ebay but I guess theres some really good places on the web or localish (Essex) I can find too. Thanks for the help so far on my other thread in custom section, I will keep that one updated on progress just in case I learn something thats a benefit to others. Heres a pic of where I am at: (I call this the took it all off now feeling a bit daunted stage!) Plan is to: - Change handle bars to straight - Strip her down a bit, make it leaner (not sure if thats a bobber look, still learning terminology) - re-spray the tank and black stuff and a few other bits a satin (matt) black - Change indicators and lights - Do something with the wheels, not sure I'm into spokes but can't find alternative like chrome covers for it (yet..help pls) Cheers, chat to a few of you as time goes on.. Ty
  12. Thanks for the advice on the newbies bit, I will stick an intro in and my starting point pics. My initial post was in a blaze of enthusiasm having just got my bike back from the pound, I'm not new to forums, just motorcycle ones and I will try and find my answers in older posts before I start a flurry of questions. The problem I have is that I have never even cleaned a spark plug before this project and the only tool kit I have is from a texaco for £4.99 so alot to learn! I'm really excited about tinkering my Dragstar and there looks like theres loads of knowledgeable people on here....I'm gonna need you all!! Cheers for the pic Paul, wheres all your bikes 'insides' gone?? Thats along the lines, definitely the flat handle bars, they look cool imo. Thanks again, Ty
  13. Hi All, Looks like a really useful forum, glad I found it. Having just had my bike back from the Rozzers having had the joy of a 14 year old nicking it then beating it up I've decided to have a little project and making it a bit more custom. First off is removing the sissy bar and 2nd seat and bags which were on it when I got the bike to save a little weight and probably add about 2mph to top speed if lucky! I know its a hairdryer in a real bikes clothing but it suits the few times i get to use it, but I'd like to make it look meaner. Thoughts so far are: - Satin black paintjob and less plasticy chrome - white wall tyres (maybe but not sure) - Different handle bars - Make it louder without failing MOT I'd like straighter bars, but struggling to find them on the web or having looked through this forum? Any ideas? Cheers Ty
