5 minute job . below the right hand side panel [ throttle side ] there is a small black metal plate with 4 allen screws holding it on .....remove that and behind it is the electrical connector that go,s to the lamba probe in the silencer .....just disconnect it, then place the new plug you have bought in were the wires come from the top [ not were it go,s into the lamba probe ] and thats it ?. i covered everything in duck tape to stop any water getting in . hope this helps , if not , im away for 2wk and when i get back i,ll try and get some photos of it . cheers.

£300 for a drive belt last i read, but the good news is ive also read were they are made from kevlar and expected to last at least 80 thousand miles.

the problem with the xvs 1300 is that they only recomend two different makes bridgestone & dunlop, and because of the unusual size [ 170/70-16 ] your choice is very limited . i think going up to a 180 may be the way to go and if anything there cheaper at that size.

just been reading a few report about metzeler me 880,s and a few folks have had trouble with tyre walls cracking ?

well ive had a look at the front tire as well and its down. i checked the pressure and they were down but the shop i got it from supposed to have done all that, so that might be reason for permiture wear. i think i might have a look at those 880,s next.

well i decided to try one of these oxygen sensors for my xvs 1300 midnight star to see if it will smooth out the fuel injection at low revs. so sent for one off ebay from greece it was only £16 with postage. i waited quite a while for it to arrive [ over 2 weeks ] but today i fitted it [ took 5 minutes ] and tried it out and what a difference ....they really do work..... it has smoothed out all the bottom end and stopped the snatching. i can recommend to enyone with a midnight star it will be the best £16 you will spend.

i dont think im going to get 6,500 miles from these , the rear only looks about legal now and its just done 3, thousand miles ? and i only go steady on it ?

what sort of tyre mileage do you get with your xvs 1300 midnight star ?. and what is the best make for high milage . im on the standard bridestone exedra,s but they seem to be going down "fast"

can anyone out there with a 1100 dragstar tell me the measurements between the two bolts on the side of the back mudgaurd were the sissybar fits on [ from bolt to bolt ] ive heard its 25mm ?

i see that there selling oxygen sensors for the xvs 1300 midnight star on ebay [ to help running at low revs ] at about £13 from a greek bike shop. has anyone bought one of these and did it work ?

hy everyone, ive just bought a xvs 1300 mindight star. had a test ride and loved it. so just a few questions - what mpg can i expect [ both going steady & on the motorway at 70mph ] and can i expect to get high milage from it without to bigger problems. and any tips from owners would be great cheers.
