  1. Hi guys, yet another newb mechanical question! Recently my YBR125 has begun not shifting into second gear properly, as in it simply will not engage from 1st, coming down the range is fine and all the other gears shift as normal. The bike shifts from 1st to neutral but refuses to progress through, which it eventually manages after declutching several times and really giving the changer a good kick, which is less than ideal in town riding. I have to do my MOD 2 on this bike in the next few weeks, so it needs sorting! Any help appreciated, Blake
  2. Problem solved by dealer, carb was clogged with dirt from bad fuel, now running sweeter than ever
  3. I have a Puig screen on my YBR. It does move the air away from the mass of your chest which makes riding substantially more comfortable, it is only a short screen however and it directed the bulk of it into my head(i'm 6,1) however with some adjustment this was sorted. Makes the bike look far better also, a very good purchase!
  4. Hello everyone, I've had my YBR for 7 good months now during which time it has been totally trouble free. The other day i took the bike for a 50 mile ride along faster roads (holding a steady 65) with which it just about handled in the normal YBR fashion, however as i neared my destination the engine began to run in a very strange manner, there was a really noticeable decrease in power and as i twisted the throttle the delivery was not at all smooth. The bike was shaking markedly more than usual, to the point where it was feeling rather unstable. I managed to get it home where since i've done the usual checks; air filter, fuel filter, spark plug and chain which might cause running like this yet all came back clear. Which leaves me with the only ideas being either a carb or electrics problem, and i could really do without a bill from the dealership to fix it! Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Blake
  5. Cheers Old Git (I'm sure you're not :L) I'll do that
  6. Hello everyone, had a bit of a bang on the YBR the other, just some scratches on the bodywork really, yet the needle has fallen off within the dial! I've just been tinkering, the oil is still on my hands! but I just can't seem to get into the actual dial. I don't want to buy a new one as they're not exactly cheap, it doesn't bother me that much as I change by sound but it just looks terrible! If you want to see the dial, it's in the video on my channel http://www.youtube.com/user/curlyblakeybiker Any help would be appreciated Blake
  7. I replaced my YBR's headlight with a halogen one, this was a great improvement and has made the bike far safer. I think there is a lot of variation between the quality of halogen bulbs, however the one i found does me fine
  8. No problem, it's what the forum is here for! good luck, and i look forward to hearing about it!
  9. Hi Andy, this is the link http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/rmu417-ring-12v-35-35w-ba20d-upgrade-headlamp-bulb-upgrades-395-std-bulb.html
  10. Hey Andy, The new bulb is very good, provides far better lighting and i've had far fewer people pulling out in front of me. I've had no problems so far, just make sure the new bulb is of the same wattage e.t.c. It would be worth your money, if i can find the email from when i bought the bulb i'll message it to you Blake
  11. Hmm yeah, the love heart shaped one is a similar colour to my bike!
  12. One thing i really miss from the moped (the ONLY thing!) is the clock! The YBR125 is a very basic bike, so it doesn't have one, i've looked around and found a few stick on clocks for bikes, but they're either poorly rated or a bit expensive. Any ideas?
  13. UPDATE Halogen headlamp far better on full beam, slight improvement on dipped Worth the money, far fewer people have pulled out in front of me with this bulb, i think it's more commanding? :L Speedshop - Had major wiring problems with my last bike regarding wiring, not going there again! Drewpy - yes it is in several places, but i found it difficult to find a resolution, so this should be easier
  14. Hello everyone, there have been several posts on the forum asking about replacing the YBR125's feeble headlight (mine's a '56 plate for the record)yet none of them seem to have been resolved as to whether the result was better, so i thought, as my halogen replacement should be installed within the week i'd post one that will be resolved If anyone has upgraded their lights on any Yamaha then feel free to discuss (p.s gladly, the headlight on the YBR only needs 3 screws removed to access, on my piaggio 50cc, it would have been about 20!)
  15. Hi, I'm Blake! My used '07 YBR125 was delivered today (the week long wait was nearly unbearable being stuck on the 50cc!, so I guess I qualify for the Yamaha owners club! Just to say hi really, looking forward to getting to know the YBR a little more, and looking forward to the expert advice i'm sure will be kicking around here! As my 50cc was a Piaggio, and died at the merest glimpse of rain i'm mainly looking forward to a bike that starts and still goes in the wet! So hello to all of you
