  1. Hello Everyone I have a 1998 yz 125 and there is a oil leak coming from the powerport. its not a drip either, there is a good bit coming out!! its on the right hand side of the engine beside the expansion chamber. there is also a good bit of oil coming from a run of from the powervalve anyone have have ideas what this is about?? i was told that it could just be a seal around the powervalve? any other advice would be appreciated! Thanks
  2. funny enough its still goin! 6 years on!!
  3. A friend of mine had an aerox, and was not impressed with the power, so he bolted on a 70cc kit, bigger carb, differant rollers, exhaust and a performance filter. have a look into this https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/index2.htm http://www.stage6.fr/catalog/catalog-english.html there was a noticable gain in power!
  4. hello, yes have a spark, but im gettin a brand new spark plug as we speak! so, hopefully it will work out! Thanks for all your help!
  5. the bike has been sittin up a while! im just after gettin a top end rebuild and im now finished breaking it in! however, i was told that around a half an hour is enough for a break in, but i only get a chance to drive it for about 5mins at a time, so it was broken in over a few weeks! and we just had about 2 weeks of snow with minus 10 degrees!! there is defo fuel gettin into the carb because i took it back out to make sure there was fuel in it and there was! as i said before, the spark plug was wet, so i cleaned it and tried again, still no joy!
  6. Thanks for the reply i just took the carb apart there twice, cleaned it out and put it back on the bike. gave a few kicks but no joy, but the petrol stopped flowing out! so, toke of the spark plug and it was fouled, cleaned it and tested it against the rad to make sure there was a spark and it still wont start! will a spark plug still work after being fouled??
  7. Thanks for the reply no its not the screw that the petrol is coming from, its a gold spout that comes from the "float bowl" and it turns at 90 degress. when i cover it with my finger, petrol starts coming from a differant overflow pipe!
  8. Thanks for the input lads! if the float bowl drain screw is the big screw on the bottom of the casing, then yes that was done up properly! the bike was running fine before this happened. unfortunatly ive have a very basic knowledge of this kind of thing! not to worry though, im sure ill get it sorted! Thanks
  9. Hello everyone, having a little problem with my carb!any help appreciated! i have a yz 125 and whenever i turn the petrol on, petrol pisses out of a breather pipe. the pipe is on the bottom of the carb and it comes from the casing that houses the float. ive searched the internet and it seems i need to adjust the float? is this a normal thing to have to do? the bike is a 1998 by the way!! Thanks!
  10. Sorry, should have made it clearer! i havent taken the plug out!there was a little bit of oil seaping out from the plug hole. its a brand new spark plug so the seal should not be damaged! i cleaned the oil of, that was seaping out, and let the bike idle for about 15min and there was no sign of any more oil seaping out! it was only a drop of oil aswell! im just a little paranoid because i just spent a small fortune gettin it repaired! hope this makes a little more sense! Thanks
  11. Hello everyone, just got my yz 125 back from the shop and i am now in the process of breaking it in. I got a brand new wossner piston in it along with new gaskets. i was just out on it there for about five mins, i had a look at the spark plug and there is oil on the threads, i havent had a chance to take the plug out yet, but i can see the oil seaping out. i rang the bike shop where i got it fixed and they said theres nothing to worry about! can anybody shed some light on this? Thanks in advance
  12. Alot more maintenance than i ever could have imagined!Hopefully wont be so bad!still have to find the broken electrode though!!took the exhaust off and it wasent in there!cheers anyway!ill keep you posted!
  13. Cheers Ive only had the bike a week and this happens so im pretty pissed off! so Thanks for your help, ill have a look at the cylinder and well see what happens! how bad would it be to run a bike with slight marks on the cylinder,i take it there will be loss of compresion anyway, but would it make a huge differance?
  14. Thanks for the link! Any ideas where i could find a replacement cylinder?ive got a feeling the cylinder is gonna be in shit!
  15. Well, just took if the exhaust there and looked inside the port, the piston is f**ked! Havent had a chance to look at the cylinder yet,but hopefully should be ok. Just wondering if anybody can recommend websites to get pistons/cylinders of? Thanks
  16. Thanks im very tempted to just start the bike up and hope that it did go out the exhaust!ill take the exhaust of anyway and see if i can find it!if it is inside the engine do you think ill be able to hear it??
  17. Thanks for the reply im just worrying that it didnt go out the exhaust and its still somewhere inside the engine.any ideas of where to start lookin for it??have you ever heard of this happening before?
  18. Alright lads, I have a 03 yz 125,im new to this and havent really a clue about bikes,so any advice would be greatly appreciated!I was riding my bike yesterday and it started to bog down and cut out.couldnt get it stated then, gave it about 10 kicks.so i took out the spark plug today and found that the tip of the spark plug(think its called the electrode)had snaped off and its now inside my engine.i am just wondering if it is an easy fix,and what kind of damage it can do?any other advice would be great!
