  1. Thanks. I found it on my own before getting back here. I hope to have this 30 year old beast running within the next 2 weeks.
  2. I have a 78 dt175 thats been in the family since new. I dont think Dad had any overbores done. can someone tell me what the std piston size is so I can compare measurements? Thanks
  3. Let me add what I think I know about these bikes. The WR's are basically YZF's with wide ratio transmission and different exhast cams. They also came with headlights and tail lights. Personally, I would go with the 05-06 450 because it has the electric starter and 07-on has the aluminum frame. Early 90s had the 2 stroke WR 250 and 500.
  4. Just found this forum today and it seems great. Was reading a bunch of posts about the DTr125 being restricted and it got me thinking if my 78 was also. Dad bought the bike new when he bought my first YZ80 and since he has passed on, I have the bike now. When I got my 06 WR, the Yamaha manual listed everything thats nedds to be done to unrestrict it, but I dont have the manual to check for the 78. If unrestricting is possible, I doubt Dad did it and I would really like to give this old workhorse some more umpf! Thanks
