Hi Have just taken out my XV1600 for a 6 mile run after winter storage and on the way back home had a couple of misfires when going from 2nd to 3rd at low speed. Going up from 1st through the gears with power was fine. Tickover good. Any suggestions appreciated. Year 2000, 6500 miles. Last outing September 08. cheers Muzz

Hi My friend has a 1100 Dragstar and tells me the low oil pressure switch light located in the fuel tank panel flashes from time to time Can someone please tell me where this pressure switch is located and is it accessible?. Thanks Muzz

Hi Have just rec'd a letter from Yamaha UK re a safety issue re XV1600 gearbox (4th gear pinion). Have contacted my dealer and am advised that the engine must be completely stripped to install new parts. I would like to know if this is a design problem material defect batch problem or manufacture I am not doubting the quality of work that my dealer can perform but would like to receive any advise if this is applicable to all XV1600 machines. I understand there was a recal in 2003 re the gearbox circlip but my Y2000 machine was not effected. Any comments very much appreciated Regards Muzz
