    FINALLY!!!

Well after an un-successful 1st test over a fortnight ago where a little prat chucked a rugby ball into the road when i was doing my controlled turn cost me a failure and another £100! i've FINALLY passed my Direct Access and p.2 - So i've joined the thundercat on the road gang rather than thundercat being cleaned again gang!!! It's been raining today - but as a new novelty - i still couldn't put my bike down today - and absolutely lovin' it! May the good times roll! Regards, Craig.
  3. did you just take the airbox off and simply just put an air filter per carb inlet on?? if so - do you have a picture anywhere at all - what filters did you use? I notice a very small hesitation on harsh acceleration since i put the k & n on - any idea's - do you think it needs re-jetting? etc.... cheers.
  4. well i've actually put in castrol R4 Synthetic for now - so we'll see how it goes! £30 for 5 litres!!! But i suppose the protection the most important thing! regards all.
  5. silver has been added - and looks great = thanks for the opinions though!!

    The car wash

    Type - WET - pis*ing myself laughing!!!
  7. Yeah true! when you put it like that it makes sense! But i'm still gonna put the k & n in for now - and give it a whirl! cheers.
  8. Thanks for your reply's, looks like mobil1 then so far!
  9. I was told that the k & n was a better filter for both reasons! filtering: because it has a different contour(not bigger filtering holes) the air enters the filter more smoothly and direct (straight line suction) thus allowing a greater build up of air to enter in one go it will increase the performance slightly as well as giving BETTER protection..... Maybe this can be argued then! but looking at the filters the k & n certainly looks like a beter filtration system to me? especially if oiled properly? regards.
  10. Well i just purchased a service kit for £89!!! posted. which includes a K & N Air Filter, K & N Oil Filter and a set of NGK Iridium Plugs - Priced up seperately elsewhere it came to £118! so a decent saving! Hope every one else enjoys the site.
  11. http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/ I've used these - and highly recommend them! They have all the bits for most bikes! Happy Shopping!
  12. nice buddy - but to get best replies you need to post it in the gallery area of the forum - have fun dude!
  13. Does the K & N or any other filter for that matter really make much difference to sound or performance?
  14. who uses what oil for thundercat??? i was told not to bother with fully synthetic unless you plan on changing oil every couple of weeks!! Is the semi-synthetic the way to go? just wondering whats the best stuff to add to my purring machine! thanks.

    R6

i would just also like to add that i have my final test on wednesday - but know how to ride - i've gone for a Thundercat 600 for now and it's sitting there in the garage waiting for me to take her out onto the open road from wednesday on! I have to pass! (Failure's not an option!) She is a 99 model and probably worth in the region of £1800 - all black, taxed mot'd and ready to go...... it's extremely comfortable, easy to control and more importantly - still very powerful (just over 100bhp) thats enough for me for about 4-5months then i will look at upgrading - probably to something like either the new r6, gsxr 600, or i may even look at the gsxr 750! but im not sure yet, I guess being on the forum i might have to be persuaded to go for the 07 R6! but as much as i want to jump straight on a R6 i would definitely benefit from a few months/miles experience first... I will be commuting throughout winter! ( once again to build up my experience) and by the summer time i would be confident enough to Go and exchange my Cat for that Brand new R6.... Good luck too Paul!
