  1. yeh - they are good - on a par with the 020's.....
  2. yeah you can! but hey - dont pussy about doing all that bollox running in! hammer it from new - its better for the bike! let it decelerate properly to prevent glazing of parts too. i hammered my gsxr 600 06 from new - changed the oil after 20 miles - loadsa metal flakes out! then at 600 dealer service - then hammered it to 1000miles - changed oil again (more very small flakes out)to fully synth and new k & n hi flo oil filter - bike now on 1850 miles and strong as an ox - better pull than my mates r6 06 plate and he run his in as per the manual! will be changing oil again at 2000 - i dont believe you should wait from 600 mile service to 4000 service! i've seen the shit that comes outa the oil! run in as you like! - after all - the bike has a warranty!
  3. try and get an 04 or later! or better still a brand new one on 0%apr!

    Custom Mapping

not worth mapping for just a can - although if you add a performance filter like BMC for instance and a uprated set of plugs - maybe platinums or iridiums - i'd get a pc3 then get it dyno'd and mapped at same time - but most ecu's on motorcycles will self learn off just a can. probably be lucky to get 2bhp off a can after mapping - this is usally only to perfect the air/fuel mixture @ certain rev ranges - most of the power is obtainable with out a new can but getting a proper tune sorted out.
  5. strip it down and find out where the oils coming from!
  6. THESE ARE AWESOME FOR THE MONEY AND HAVE IMPROVED MY LIGHTING DAY AND NIGHT! RECOMMENDED! EBAY - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GSXR-R1-R6-RR-ZX6R-F...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. IF YOU WANT A REAL STICKY TYRE FOR THE SUMMER TO IMPROVE YOUR HANDLING TRY A MICHELIN PP 2CT - BUT WONT BE MUCH GOOD ON A T/CAT AT WINTER. I ONLY GOT 1800 MILES OUT OF 2 BT014 BRIDGY'S - EXCELLENT TYRE BUT SOFT COMPOUND ALL OVER AND WEAR OUT QUICK DOWN THE CENTER LINE - SO NOT MUCH GOOD FOR COMUTING. ALL ROUND - I WOULD USE A BRIDGESTONE BT020.
  8. THATS JUST YOUR ENGINE NUMBER IF THEY'VE BEEN SCRATCHED OFF THE TOP OF THE FORK HEADS THEN I'D BE A BASTARD TO SAY YOU MAY HAVE A DODGY BIKE BRO. THEY ARE NO OTHER PLACES FOR FRAME NO.S
  9. CHANGE THE PISTON RINGS AND TRY IT AGAIN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

    R6 vs FZ6S

OOOOOH! NO...... ITS A HALF NAKED UGLY BEAST R6 ALL THE WAY UNLESS YOU GO FOR A GSXR600!! YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO RIDE PROPERLY DUDE IF YOUR STILL HURTING WRISTS! THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT BIKES AND I THINK YOU SHOULD STICK TO THE LESS POWERFUL ONE IF YOU NEEDED TO ASK A QUESTION LIKE THAT.

    What Petrol??

YOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK YOUR MANUALS - IF YOUR PUTTING IN FUEL WITH A HIGHER OCTANE RATING THAN REQUIRED YOUR JUST WASTING YOUR MONEY! UK BIKES ARE ALSO DIFFERENT TO US BIKE REQUIREMENTS SO THEY CANNOT BE COMPARED! IF YOU OWN A SUPERSPORT 600 IN THE UK LIKE A R6 OR GSXR600 OR ZX6R THEN YOU WILL NEED TO FUEL WITH 91 OR HIGHER OCTANE. BUT LIKE I SAID UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY DUDES! THE HIGHER THE OCTANE SIMPLY MEANS THE HIGHER THE TEMPS NEEDED TO BURN THE FUEL - HIGH OCTANE FUEL CAN WITHSTAND HIGHER TEMPS AND COMPRESSIONS BEFORE IT IGNITES - SIMPLE. IF YOU USE HIGH OCTANE IN A BIKE THAT DOES NOT NEED IT THEN YOU ARE WASTING MONEY, THROWING UN-BURNT FUEL DOWN YOUR MANIFOLD - (FLAMES FROM EXHAUST SOMETIMES WHEN THE FUEL IGNITES LATER INTO THE OUTLET MANIFOLD.) AND CAUSING POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO PLUGS AND VALVES - AND IN SOME CASES DETONATION.

A THUNDERCAT MAY APPEAL TO YOU BUT READ THIS POST! http://www.yamahaclub.com/forums/index.php...amp;#entry40447

    YZF R6

DONT BOTHER WITH A THUNDERCAT! IF YOU GOT AN EVO I KNOW YOU'LL GET BORED AFTER 2 MONTHS LIKE I DID - I WENT AND BOUGHT A BRAND NEW GSXR 600 YOU CAN PICK UP A NEW R6 NOW WITH 0%APR - AND YOU'LL BE MUCH HAPPIER WITH IT! PLUS ITS ALOT FASTER THAT A T/CAT. ALTHOUGH IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD REALLY BOOK YOURSELF AN ADVANCE RIDERS COURSE AFTER D/A AS YOU WILL LEARN TO BE A BETTER RIDER AFTER DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT - A GOOD SET OF LEATHERS, HELMET BOOTS, GLOVES AND A TRACK COURSE OR ADVANCED ROAD COURSE ETC..... IS WORTH MORE THAN A CARBON SLIP ON, POWER COMMANDER AND AIR FILTER! I HAVE A STOCK BIKE - AND DONE ALL THESE COURSES I COULD - AND WHIP THE LADS ON THEIR 1000'S WEEK IN WEEK OUT! GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN.
  14. YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT EXPERIENCED WITH ROAD BIKES AND TYRES IF YOU THINK SLICKS ARE A CHOICE FOR ROAD USE!!! YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR LICENCE AS QUICK AS YOU LOOSE YOUR BIKE! LISTEN DUDE IF YOU WANT A GOOD SET OF TYRES FOR USE ON ROAD AND TRACK FOR THAT MATTER... THESE 5 ARE THE MAIN TO CONSIDER IN ORDER OF GRIP AND QUALITY MY OPINION! 1 MICHELIN PILOT POWER 2CT'S 2 PIRELLI DRAGON CORSA'S 3 METZELER M3'S 4 DUNLOP QUALIFIERS 5 BRIDGESTONE BT002'S

    wot end can???

YOU NEED A YOSHIMURA R55 ASAP!!!!!
  16. what a load of crap! you will not have to re-jet your bike! numpty.... it is there for emission and noise purposes mainly - but can provide back pressure at low revs so there is a bit more torque lower down. Most people take them off to increase throttle response from low to mid revs where the 600's usually lack power. it does make a small difference to throttle response i have to say as i certainly noticed it - and there was less on off jerkiness in slow moving traffic as you get with the injection models. But the main reason to take them out is for noise! especially after fitting new pipes (slip ons) etc..... it also doesn't void a warranty by removing it - it will only void a warranty if it is found that removing that particular part has caused another to malfuction - but this has never happened since the fitting of the ex-up, set, or exsv valves.
  17. Very true - This is what i was referring to todays bikes - not all you guys going on about older models. cheers.
  18. i'd adjust the rebound setting a few clicks and see how you get on - but remember where the factory setting is incase you need to go back!
  19. Which is the best... My opinion: I have to say i came off a thundercat and onto a 2006 gsxr 600 - WOW! I tried other bikes - but this one was astounding! I'm sorry to have moved away from yamaha and i am not biased to either model - i just thought this was the best overall 600cc i tried and i am very impressed with it in all aspects compared to other 600's - I will obviously remain a yamaha member as i am a great lover of their bikes - but this year the gixxer kicked serious ass! Just wondering what other experiences you may have had comparing or test riding other 600's as the market for them now is so competitive..... Cheers.....
  20. Mark S - I told you! - My mate has his own business!!!!! Don't worry about that stuff..... He's a friend - reasonably priced - and knows what he's doing! - My bike still running aint it! plus i do most of the simple stuff myself - can service the bike easy! P.S. - Welcome!!!!!!!!!! CG
  21. hello - and welcome! enjoy yourself......................
  22. First off - i didn't think anyone would find that offensive - so i apologise! But if i'm in the right - and i decide to give some one the middle finger - that's my perogative. I'm not one for road rage - but i'll fight my corner - and if some one hits me off my bike - aswell as assaulting me it'll only land them in trouble - as they'll have to have deep pockets to cover the cost! as well as the fate of possibly a smack back - i wouldn't sit there and let them get away with it! The chap almost killed me - what would you do ???? smile and nod your head!
  23. yeah true - more a point to the cars rather than the bikes! P.s. i carry out the rule of a cheesey thumbs up on good behaviour - i too also think "ha! biker driving!!!" Although i also give a Middle Signature if like the tosser today. pull out of a round-a-bout in front of me! - never mind there's always one.... I even birdied a tranny full of builders the other day and they were built like a freakin barn door! what the hell........... They aint gonna catch me! LOL
  24. Well - as for forward facing camera's - the main reason in the uk that you cannot be prosecuted by one on the otherside of the road or central reservation facing you - is that if the camera FLASHES it could be used in a court of law as a reason to cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death simply because the flash could blind an oncoming driver/rider. Secondly - The invisible Coat - Use the horn dudes! i can't keep my hands off it in busy traffic - especially filtering - thats what it's there for! if it saves my life or my bike, i'll keep my freakin' thumb on it untill the "put your make-up on in the rear view mirror" terrorists know im sitting up there jacksy or about to give em some driver window decibles..... lol - have fun dudes....
