  1. first off,,,,theres probably nothing wrong with the carbs....the EXUP valve opens and closes on acceleration/de-accelaration, this in turn limits the exhaust gas flow thus making your motor run like a dream...get rid of the exup valve and you have a motor that will splutter and not run rite at all..my guess is that you over opend the valve thus limiting the gas flow, which in turn will restrict your motor...these are set up for maximum performance, and if you over turn the valve, it will close backwards if you know what i mean???????.. there is 2 ways round this problem... 1..buy an after market system for your motor..this will include new headers etc which then removes the exup system..your probably looking at around £250+ for this.. 2.locate your exup servo motor(usually under the tank on the right hand side as your sat on the bike). follow the lead back to your ignition system and see if its connected, if it is, start the bike and check that the servo moves when you rev the bike, if it doesnt then get a new servo and try again. once you have done that.re run new cables,,set the valve and away you go on your rocket.. now the valve itself is set into the exhaust collector box,,you cant miss it..just check to make sure it hasnt seized up by turning it a few times,, i think the worst thing you couldve done is cut the cables as thats just cost you money.. get back to me if you have any problems with this post...regards...andy1488

  3. hi pal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hope the coolant question/reply helped??????.....let me know.... as for the exhaust link pipe......................it SHOULD fit...my mate put a 750 link pipe onto a 1000 thunderace...so you can presume that it will be roll reversal...I.E..1000 onto a 750....do you know the bloke persnaly?? he could bring it round and try a fitting...only takes 10 mins and a brew to do this...if not ask him to measure the diameter of the link pipe and measure your own,,swap details and fit if possible.... also noticed that people like to view problems on this site but wont help...maybe need to be ridind a 2014 reg yam r1 dogs bollox with super teflon coated non slip tyres and magic paint that doesnt get dirty, complete with matching bike blanket and pillows for there help????? im happy riding a 92 fzr1000 exup...still eats r1's and 17 years old...its the breeding.
  4. 1.....the coolant bottle under the seat acts as an overflow,,aswell as topping up your rad..whenever i fill my bottle up,i always use neat coolant/anti-freeze.you should have two lines on the bottle,,an upper(max) and lower(min) fill level...top up with coolant, run for around 50 miles and check the levels agai. top up if necassary. 2...not sure if you have a hydraulic clutch on that model,, but if so,,you just unbolt the cover aswell as the clutch pushrod housing(2)bolts and clean your sprocket..fitting is just reversed,...
  5. :wank4az:hi....i own a 92reg fzr1000 ru exup,,,which comes with the amazingly small headlights with no reflective units at all(think this is classed as the import headlight) .anyway, after taking the front fairing off,you are left with a light unit with 2 bulb holders in.the bulbs for this model are 40/55watts.which means at night you are riding blind. first question....can the headlight unit be replaced by somthing else which takes a larger bulb, thus larger wattage = i can see at night.. second question....can i just get higher wattage bulbs???80/100watts etc... the other fzr's have the big round headlights, which i think takes a standard H4 size fitting, but mine has a trapezoid? shaped light which you just plug the bulbs into. which i think are a H7 size.. as i live in semi rural lancashire,,night riding is not fun as i cant really see the bloody road. any help on this matter would be much appreciated as the long nights are here and i prefere to see where i am going..... should i just strap a big torch on the front??????????????
