  1. Sorry, I know how the powervalve works....I meant how does the electrical system work over the servo with a cdi? Cheers, Paul.
  2. OK, Thanks for the reply. I'm new to bikes (this is my first one) So I dont know what a bike with the servo looks like and if mine would be compatable. How does the one off of the DTR work? Paul.
  3. Hi, Can anyone give me some advice? My bike has been de-restricted and I can open the power valve manually, but this obviously loses power low down. So I want to fit a power valve servo to it. It's a 1988 TZR 125. What parts do I need and how do I retro fit it? Can I use the parts off of another bike or does it need to be a TZR125 from 87-89? Cheers, Paul.

    Charging issues

Hi, right found the rectifier and will test it tomorrow. So wheres the generator? How do i get to it? I've tested the electrical system at the battery and with the revs at 3k rpm i get 13.5 volts - so something is nackered!! is it more likely to be the rectifier or generator? Cheers, Paul.

Hi, Can someone tell me where the generator is on a 1988 tzr125? also the location of the rectifier. How do I remove the generator for repair/replacement? Cheers, Paul.
  6. Hi, As title, which is the correct lube to use on the chain of a 1988 TZR 125? Is there something thats easily applied and doesnt spray off when you ride the bike? Cheers, Paul.
  7. Hi, Found out the bike is de-restricted already - so when it's run it, it just needs the powervalve opening. Think i'll leave it shut for the time being though!! Cheers, Paul.
  8. thanks for the info - been told by the bloke that sold me the bike that all I need to do is open the valve half way to get power at the top end? The bike does have a stainless exhaust already. Cheers, Paul.
  9. And sorry, mistyped the year, it's a 1988 model! Paul.
  10. Thanks for the reply! So with the valve closed, will all the power be at the top end? Also, ae you saying the the further open the valve is, the lower down in the rev range the power band is? Cheers, Paul.
  11. Hi All, Just bought a 1988 TZR 125 today! being dropped off tomorrow. It's my first bike, so I thought i'd get something cheap to learn on for a year or so. Ive got a question! apparently it's got a manual power valve. The valve is closed at the moment as the bike has had a rebuild and is being run in - what does this mean exactly? I'm new to 2 strokes as i've always had cars. When i've run the bike in, what can i expect perfomrance wise if i open the power valve? The bike also has a stainless exhaust. Cheers, Paul.
