  1. Thanks for that JimJam, I sent off a post onto visordown also. Does anyone know of a decent inductive setup for a R6? Idealy, it would be coil overs, but anything is better than what we have at the moment ( i believe its from a '86 Mitsubishi Sigma ) Currently running dual coil, wasted spark. Thanks
  2. Hi, I'm for Queensland University of Technology in Australia, we are currently building a FSAE race car using a 2004 YZF-R6 engine. We are trying to source a new ingnition system for this car, as we are unable to use the factory CDI system that came with the engine due to our custom ECU that doesn't support CDI. We are currently running an automotive system (Dual Coil, Wasted Spark) but, its producing a lot of noise, and is having problems with the duty cycles on high RPM. After a little research into possible replacement inductive systems, I found out about the TCI system in the 2006 R6. I'm just trying to find out a little more about the technical aspects of the units. I've been to several Yamaha dealers locally, and they hadn't been to 2006 model training at this point in time, so they didn't know anything about the 06 system. I have even tried sending off emails to Yamaha australia, and all they could tell me is that it does use TCI.... If someone could possibly tell me the physical dimensions of the 06 units, and how they are controlled? Even if someone had another suggestion? I just noticed that it seems that the R1's also use TCI, does anyone know anything about the system? Is it a coil over plug design? If so, will this unit fit into a R6 engine? Even if you don't have an answer, if you had somewhere for me to look? And please excuse me if I have made some technical errors, I'm not an Automotive student, I'm just an IT student with a passion of bikes.
