  1. I tried a test light across each fuse and then tfrom the sodder point to sodder point, key on and key off nothing..battery shows juice and tail light brake light works.. what is between the battery and the fuses some other fuse? I can understand one being blown but all of them and even f the fuse is blown going from the sodder points by passes the fuse...ideas?
  2. Cool I'll give it a go
  3. Would those be just the simple in-line holder and wires you can find in most auto supply stores? I would assume if I match the wire gauge and the fuse AMP I should be good to go right?
  4. Yup done all of those, I can generally tell when it's not right and even when battery is stone cold the N-light usally comes on even weak but there seems to be no juice to front ...all the fuses seem in tack and all the solder points seem good. Is there an in-line fuse some place else I can check..it's one thing for a low battery but with a strong tail light it seems like juice is disconnected to the front of bike.
  5. well just had it running, beofre this abrupt situation occured. It was working just fine, if it was low it would at least try and start (at least click or something)...the rear lights come on strong, horn honks and I placed it on a charger until it showed it was fully charged. Any other suggestions?
  6. Have an 82 XS650 specoal.. I rode it down the street (frist time she's been out for awhile) I drove up and parked it. Went inside and came back after a few and noticed I had left the headlight so I turned it off. I came out to start it and there is no power to the starter button, headlights or neutral light. The turn signals work, tail light and horn...I tracked as many wires that I could and see nothing, no bare wires and no in-line fuse...the battery is fully charged...its as if the electrical is torn in half...some systems work some don't. It's like I blew some hidden fuse someplace. Ideas??

    Newbi needs help

I bought this just awhile ago and have ridden it very little. However this happened today. I just filled up my tank with a fuel jug so I wasn't riding it. Put in enough to almost fill it up...started it up and she ran ok but then I noticed it missed a little. Turned it off and noticed fuel pour out through the carbs...I couldn't get it to stop, the petcock wouldn't stop and it came pouring from inside the carb, I pulled the air cleaners and finally had to pull the tank before it went all over my garage. What would allow gas to keep going like that? Shouldn't it stop if I don't use the accelerator? Help me to understand where to start...thanks!!
