  1. Thanks for the reply, but rotating the cam puts the hole it needs to fit into even further away from reach, I'm getting to the point of dropping it at a dealer.....or if I can find someone with really, really small hands!
  2. Hey all! Wondering if there's a trick to replacing the throttle cable on a 06 R1 without removing the motor/throttle body assembly? When looking down at the motor (tank/airbox removed) the cable "cam" (where the cables attach) there is a top (pull/open) and a bottom (push/close) cable, I got the top cable installed no problem, but can't seem to fit my hands in there enough to get the end seated in the hole, and the cable into it's guide. I even tried removing the rear cover to the lower airbox portion (that houses the ECU) so I could get a little more room, but I couldn't get the harness detached. Any suggestions? TIA Darren
  3. anyone know how to go about obtaining a cert of origin from Yamaha......the dealer lost it. I'd buy this bike in a heartbeat, ('00 WR400F) but the owner never picked up the CO from the dealer, he (seller) gave me all the info, paperwork, reciepts, and I went to the dealer he bought it from asking for the CO and the dealer can't find it..... the bike is useless to me without the CO, I want to reg it and ride it on the street and a few offroad parks that require plates.
  4. What's up all, been a Yamaho owner/avid fan for years now, just found this forum whilst looking for information on some dirtys. Basically I'm looking to downgrade in the power dept. Not permanently mind you, but I've just realized that my riding style needs a little check and balance now and then. I feel that my R1 may need some garage time, and I could spend some seat miles on a sumo. I have an opportunity to purchase a YZ426F for a pretty decent price, and would convert it to street /sumo duty quite easily, only I need to insist on electric start for street duty, so my question is: How difficult is it to add the electric start from a WR426 to a YZ426F? Is it just a matter of adding an assembly, wiring and switchgear, or does it require new cases/internals which would make the idea loony? If you want to see some of our "morning rides" check out www.youtube.com/fasyankee all the onboard is me, there's even a trackday compilation!
