  1. Hi all...Was was hoping that someone would be able to tell me if dt125lc mk3 1987, would share the same wheels as any other dts.Maybe another yamaha shares the same wheels and hubs.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tim
  2. Thanks for the quick replies,i will give it a go,shame i filled the tank up on the way home!! Oh well sods law i suppose!! Cheers Tim
  3. Hi,can anyone tell me what causes the petrol tap to go tight, can it be fixed ? Or is it a replacement ? Need to sort it as it was so tight tonight i nearly had to use a pair of pliers on it!! Lol, Cheers Tim
  4. Hi, i would of thought if the thermostat is faulty it would overheat all the time not just in summer,is the water actually being boiled out,if not it could be a faulty temp sender giving a false reading...
  5. Hi All,just woundered if anyone was knowlegable enough to tell me what year ypvs servos changed from a 2pin 1 bullet connector to a 4pin 1bullet,not being rude to anyone but a guess is not really good enough it can be the same as bad advice/a bum steer !!! Thanks......Tim
  6. The servo with 4 wires and a bullet does not have the controll unit built in,the unit we need has the unit built in hence less wires, think the only mod would be to get the control unit for the servo,i am pretty sure it ids built in to the cdi,a pain in the ass!! Am in the process of trying to sort out a front brake caliper for my 1987 dt 125lc 3,think its the same as the dtr,but asked many people,no one is sure, wish i could find someone local to me to compare my caliper to theirs,oh well back to trolling the internet and keeping my fingers crossed...
  7. Hi,could anyone help, i am trying to find a front brake caliper for my dt 125 lc3 1987,not sure if a later dtr caliper will fit although having looking at many pictures they look identical. As do some other yamaha calipers. Also if they dont fit anyone know the difference between the two? Thanks for any help
  8. A 97 servo is the model with more wires,in my previous post it says there are plenty of those about but not for the earlier model, which is the one i need!! Tim
  9. All sorted, called in yamaha dealer and they told me what i wanted to know
  10. Hi,your frame number should be at the front of frame in front of your tank below the handlebars,i aso have a dt125lc and the engine number is also the same number located at the back of the engine, look at the back of the engine underneath and behind the carb, hope this helps. Tim
  11. Hi, I have been trying to find about the chain rollers and tensioner on my 1987 dt125 lc. My haynes manual is not alot of use as it doesnt realy mention anything about them. The manual shows it should a tensioner,my bike has no sprung tensioner, but has two rollers.Does anyone know if the bike is ment to have a sprung tensioner(i have found the manual wrong in the past),or just the two rollers. Also are either of the rollers ment to be in permanent contact with the chain.I have just fitted new chain and sprockets and would like to get the setup correct.I have tried to find information about the subject but i havent had much luck! Thanks in advance for any replies, any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Tim
  12. Hi,thanks everyone for your previous help, greatly appreciated!! I was woundering if anyone knows whether or not the power valve servo can be interchanged with a wireing modification,i believe the early type have a 2 pin plug and 1 seperate bullet connector and the later type have a 4 pin plug and 1 bullet connector,,the later unit can be purchased fairly easily whereas the early unit seems to be like rocking horse droppings,as far as the wiring on the early unit i presume (seeing as only 3 wires)the connections must be ignition positive an earth and a pick up from the coil/cdi unit. Any help would be greatly recieved.....Tim
  13. Hi ,best you make sure you have power at the solenoid on one of the large terminals from the battery + .... Tim
  14. Ebay is probably your best bet...
